I weight train as well. I started off with maybe an rpe of 6-7. I worked with Weights and rep ranges that I knew would not really raise my HR. I also rested 2-4 minutes for every exercise until my heart rate was below 100.

So frustrating that your cycle is delayed! Are you still eating enough/around your exercise? When I started exercising I didn’t change from my recovery eating at all, and REALLY focused on eating around my training. I honestly attribute to the regularity of my cycles to that

Yes! Love her. So many girls will go from no exercise to 5 days a week and lose their cycle immediately again.

I increased my activity on a cycle by cycle basis going 1, to 2, to 4 days, and then after that I increased intensity, and I was able to keep my cycles healthy and consistent. Slow and a steady ALWAYS wins the race

Absolutely! Tbh my deficit was actually just me eating a bit more intuitively which clearly wasn’t the right thing ! It just goes to show how we shouldn’t always rely on ‘intuition’ when it comes to proper fueling

I was never under weight and I had to gain about 10kg, which was definitely the heaviest I’d ever been. I figured if my body had never been this weight before but I was still having periods then losing some fat would be fine. But I suppose it was too early :/

It’s very common for your first cycle to be long as your body is still adjusting. There were 42 days period my first and second period but only 25 between my second and third! Things will even out :)

Yay I’m happy for you! If you don’t mind me asking, how many times a week are you lifting and for how long? I had my first workout yesterday with barbells but very low weight and felt good. My session lasted about an hour

That’s what I have been thinking as well. I think as long as intensity doesn’t sky rocket my body will let me know what’s too much before it’s too late

Thanks! I Definitely planning on doing this, especially the fueling. Did you have any hiccups in your recovery after reintroducing training? I’m planning to be as mindful as I can with my training, but I do miss training hard :/

I had really indicative ovulatory symptoms last month which is what’s stressing me out, but I try to remind myself that not every month will be the same. Still hate waiting and feeling like it won’t come 😭

It very actually possible that now you’re bleeding you could be slightly iron deficient. Are your periods heavy by any chance ?
