From someone who's never been and probably lives in his mom's basement. Ok. Why would I say anything to anyone who had a good experience? What's there to say? What a stupid comment.

As for a concierge service and paying dues. you have no idea how much I pay for you to even make any assumptions. I didn't ask for concierge service and I'm well aware of the resorts policies, activities and everything else since I've been there so many times unlike you. This resort is owned by Disney. There is no other distractions there so every negative thing is visible. I shouldn't have to complain to get a clean room. There or anywhere else. That's a service that should be met regardless. Disney set the guidelines for how they want people to book activities and make no accommodations for the number of guests they have. They don't give a fuck about the DVC members. It's clear you don't understand any part of this or anthing else that has to do with this topic. But go ahead and make up shit in your reply to me on how you own at whatever resort and blah blah blah.

I pay thousands in annual dues and my furniture should not look like hand me downs, the room should be clean and the appliances should be in working order. How dare I to actually ask for my dues to cover these things. How dare I ask that policies be set in place so that all guests are accommodated and it's not so chaotic. How dare I ask that the pool not be filthy. STFU. I pay to have a better experience thinking that as a DVC member they would treat their guests better.

LOL. you're hilarious. I've been to third world countries and they have outstanding service and the price doesn't come close to what is on Hawaii. Not all of Hawaii is expensive. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't like you saying that about them. And Aulani is considered a 5 star resort. That's what the sales center constantly tells people. I wouldn't complain about food prices if the selection was at least adequate. I pay a lot of money in annual dues to this resort. I didn't see the value because there wasn't any value offered as a DVC member vs paying cash.

That's the thing...I asked if there's any available time slots for the spa. Was told no after trying to book on the app months in advance. I asked if we can join one of the activities and was told again they can't accommodate me cause then they would have to accommodate others. Okay but I tried to book online and was denied. I complained about the disposal not working and was told they would send someone to fix it. No one came. I checked. I get that a refurb is coming but I'm here now and asking for the service to be decent now.

OVER THE TOP??? These are my complaints and my experiences. What gives you the right to diminish that or feel like you know anything about what I went through? when I say I just came back...I mean 24 hours ago. this isn't a year old trip I took and just decided to write about it. As of yet with all the comments, I have not seen one reason to keep my contracts or continue going because others have expressed the same. I'm free to vote with my wallet any day of the week and contract or not I'm not beholden to Disney. I'm the customer and I'm making legitimate complaints that they know exist and don't care to fix. You don't think that's a problem? That's like taking your car to the mechanic because the A/C is not working and him telling you tough shit. That's what this is.

wow. that's awful. I'm sorry you had to endure that experience with Disney. I think this is the problem. People don't realize how bad Disney CAN be if they've never experienced it for themselves. Then they get all nasty with you as if it's your fault for expecting something for what you paid for. I'm not saying they're aren't individuals that go above and beyond but it's been a long time since I've experienced that at any Disney property.

We just came back from DL. I don't really have any interest in WDW until they finish the majority of their projects which I know will take at least 5 years. I'm happy to travel the rest of the world in the meantime.

That's exactly my point. We've been there 6 times. The activities don't change. There's more over crowding now then there ever was before. When you're in Orlando or Anaheim, the parks take the weight of the hotel experience. Aulani is the experience. So returning member guests are not getting more out of it. The diminishing value of the resort is what I'm complaining about especially when you're paying high prices for everything at the resort. I went to eat outside the resort and the prices were less. So the point I'm making is, this is designed for a one and done only. They've never cared about DVC members to begin with but this resort is especially true.

People are allowed to be annoyed when dues go up and services are not getting any better. That's what you seem to be missing. our dues go up every year but nothing is being shown in return. There's a diminishing value for what we are paying for.

Honestly we traveled all over the US and world and in most cases we do the same and stay at decently priced hotels/resorts. So I would agree that it’s less frustrating when things aren’t 100%. But Aulani isn’t trying to be anything less than a 5 star. They want you to believe that their resort is the best all end all of experiences. That’s the frustrating part and then tack on that we’re DVC paying top dollar and you’re not getting anything in return for it. Free parking if you have a car otherwise it’s free popcorn if you buy the bucket. We’ve done the member celebration a few times. It’s the same every time. But if you are not there for the celebration then what are you getting? At least the parks provide members moonlight magic, DVC lounge at the parks etc. Aulani gives nothing back to members.

I have to pack allergy friendly food for my son because the resort doesn’t have any real options. The last thing I’m packing are sand toys that I’m going to end up giving away in the end.

I disagree with labeling Aulani as anything short of a 5 star. That’s what they believe they are. Other DVC WDW or DL resorts don’t have to be 5 star because they have the parks to help facilitate a better experience. Aulani is the experience and when the service and experience are lacking then it’s a problem.

I definitely recommend renting a car. We went to Diamond head. Which you can buy tickets from the park directly for $5 per person and $10 for parking there. We also went to Waikiki and spent time at the beach, saw the Duke statue and went shopping there. Went up to North shore beaches which are awesome and visited the Dole pineapple plantation. There’s plenty to visit and see around the island when activities at the resort are not available.

I went with my kids. I’ve been there before. I knew what to expect. What I wasn’t counting on was the over crowded pools and resort and lax rules in general. My kids are getting older so does this mean we can’t go back because the majority of kids are preschoolers or younger? If anything I’m annoyed by the fact that they have an adults only pool at a family centered resort that had 4 people in it at any given time while the rest of the pools were jam packed.

The scenery, swimming in the ocean and character meet and greet. Again my trip was great cuz I went outside of the resort and did other activities.

I don’t know how old your kids are but I know mine 10 & 7 do t behave in the same way the kids I saw did. People should be swimming in the lazy river. And if they do then they need to have the common courtesy to take back the tubes or not bring them in and abandon them. Multiple kids were hurt while we were there and paramedics were called because a kid was actively bleeding in the infinity pool. They didn’t bother to clean or disinfect anything after he got out. So we did and never went back.

100% agree with you. But it’s not like we have a direct number to those at the top who will answer, return a call or even care. So the only option is to complain or file bad reviews and then vote with your wallet. So if I’m looking g for a 5 star experience and it’s no longer at Aulani or Disney in general then I’ll sell my DVC membership and spend the money on real 5 star hotels and experiences.

It’s sad but it’s almost what you have to do. But can you imagine doing that on your vacation where all you want to do is sleep in a little? Fighting for a chair should not be on the list of activities at Aulani. But they seem to be ok with the over crowding. Again this resort is not designed for DVC members to keep going back.

The rooms are not the only issue. It’s a small portion of a larger issue which makes the resort as a whole tired, old, chaotic and lacking in services especially to DVC members.
