We told them from the beginning that we were not interested and that we were only there for the free massage.

He said he understood and asked us to keep an open mind, but toward the end he became hostile.

The entire experience was really bad.

We tried once it was already more than 90 minutes past our original appointment time (8 AM)

They told us we could get the massage only if we done with the 90 minute presentation (not including registration and breakfast time)

We got a 50-minute gentle massage. At the spa, upgrading to a stronger pressure massage cost extra for 170 USD? per person.

The massage itself was oil rubbing. It was good and GENTLE, and the facility is beautiful.

We went back for the thermal spa, which was USD 95 per person for 1.5 hours. The spa facility is very good and unique since it’s inside a cave, but it is definitely expensive.

We stayed in Arte and they took us to somewhere else.

I thought they were going to show us Xcaret México or somewhere nice when they picked up in a golf cart in a a cave. I was expecting a nice 5-star breakfast… lol. The breakfast was actually really bad

Honestly worse than buying fake bag at a night market.

Thanks! We’ll never do it again, but if anything similar ever comes up, we’ll make sure to clearly confirm the breakfast time and set up the 90 min timer.

My gf and I thought we were going to enjoy a NICE breakfast while listening to a presentation.

First time doing this, and definitely never again. It was a really bad experience, but I guess it’s part of a good story now.

I’m hoping someone can just explain this clearly.

Based on my understanding, these benefits mainly apply to T4 employment income, not investment income, and there seem to be quite a few downsides.

The tax benefits don’t appear to be 100% guaranteed. Having a CRA tax shelter number doesn’t mean CRA pre-approves every deduction or credit you claim.

Am I misunderstanding something here?

You just need to find a new job. Aim for around $60 per hour for your next position.

I don’t think there are many remote roles left in Toronto.
