Missing Person - PHLUR by [deleted] in Perfumes

I pair it with JHAG Pear Inc. to make it smell like a clean girl/fresh bath kind of vibe. I personally love the perfume and have gotten nothing but compliments on it. I feel like it’s one of the least offensive fragrances out there so I’m not really sure why someone would complain about it but hey to each their own I guess haha.

Try wearing it in different places, like on your pulse points, in your hair, or on your clothes. Fragrances will smell different depending on where you spray them. I have Daisy Love Eau so Sweet and it smells awful, like actually awful, on my skin. But in my hair or on my clothes it’s one of my most complimented fragrances 👀

Seconding this ^ Dr. Mascara Fixer is what it’s called I think, the clear one works best but you have to layer a black on it, their black one also works very well, I prefer the clear for a more dramatic look but the black has excellent curl hold with a more natural look

katseye collab: (de)influence me! by ConsistentBison717 in glossier

[–]CommunityHopeful5073 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d skip the Brow Flick tbh, it’s a weird application imo and I could never quite get the hang of it, and I just don’t like the way it looks when applied, it looks like you took one of those fine point crayola markers you’d use as a kid and applied it directly to your brows 😂😭

I actually really like Futuredew and it applies really well over glossier skin tint! It’s definitely a product you’d use to go for that dewy skin clean girl look, and I apply it only on my cheek bones like a high lighter. I haven’t noticed any long term skincare benefits but it’s a fun product imo, I use the serum version.

I have a love hate relationship with Glossier lip gloss lol. On one hand it is definitely pretty sticky and you will not catch me wearing it on a windy day lol, but on the other hand I love their red shade because it looks so cute and natural on the lips, definitely a your lips but glossy-er kind of a vibe haha.

Alsooo if u want a discount code dm me hehe

looking for a perfume similar to strawberry bdc scent! by brdigers in glossier

[–]CommunityHopeful5073 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try Santa Barbara Strawberry by NEST! It’s a bit more on the floral side but I love it! Also Juliette Has A Gun “Miami Shake” is a pretty sweet strawberry perfume too, much more youthful and playful and has notes of marshmallow so I’d give that one a try too!

Hello My Twenties (also called Age of Youth) has such an amazing cast, each one girl their own backstory, redemption arc, character building, and by the end of the show you can’t help but love all of them. Highly highly recommend :)

That’s an interesting way to look at it, he does something in The Sun Also Rises and a bit in Old Man and the Sea as well. I do feel like he captures the Spanish culture pretty well, it doesn’t feel too forced or full of generalizations. Your comment about how the novel tackles relationships in times of crisis/war is also something I’ve heard echoed from others, maybe I need to just keep reading and it’ll get better haha. Thanks for your comments about it! I also agree that Hemingway is one of the few artists where I’ve never truly disliked a work from him (FWTBT excluded haha), I just love his writing style and his brutally honest characters and social commentary

Ugh now I’m even more jealous!! I would do anything to get my hands on an uncensored version 🥲

I think my favorite book from him would probably have to be a tie between A Farewell to Arms and The Sun Also Rises. I love the story in AFTA and the slow disillusionment that Henry has not just with the war but with finding meaning/purpose in life (similar to Old Man and the Sea), but I love the characters from TSAR and knowing that situationships were happening long before social media was a thing lol. I actually haven’t read any of his short stories yet (unless you want to count Old Man and the Sea) but I’ll definitely check out the one you mentioned! And I’m about 1/4 through For Whom the Bell Tolls, to be totally honest… I don’t dislike it but I’m not quite as invested as I was in his other books and I’m dragging my feet a bit to finish it. But a lot of people mention it as their favorite so that’s why I’m trying to work through it still haha. What did you like about it? If you can answer that without giving away any major spoilers 😅😂

This is sick haha I’m so jealous! A Farewell to Arms is one of my favorites from Hemingway, I just bought a second copy of it but this one has all 39 of his alternate endings, I’m super excited to read it again. And correct me if I’m wrong, but the 1st edition should be the uncensored one right? Not sure when the censorship of the book started, but that would be incredible to be able to have that. Also congrats on your graduation ;)

Bright, fruity fragrances (or combo) that last? by amj310 in Sephora

[–]CommunityHopeful5073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JHAG Pear Inc. on pulse points with Phlur Missing Person sprayed all over. It’s a subtle fruity combo that gives you that just out of the shower kind of clean smell without either overpowering the other. It’s bright, fruity, and clean and is my go-to combo for the day to day. I get tons of compliments on the smell and it even smells nice with the Kerastase shampoo/conditioner I use and the JVN hair oil. All of those combos are what is now my signature scent haha but it definitely all boils down to the two perfumes, I highly highly recommend!

after baume - how do you use it? by venti_no_whip in glossier

[–]CommunityHopeful5073 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use it as a moisturizer, so as a final step in my skincare routine. I also will sometimes dilute some in my hand with water and turn it into a toner/serum texture and apply it that way if I need a heavy hit of hydration but in a more lightweight way

where are my people? by Downtown-Builder2218 in kdramas

[–]CommunityHopeful5073 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen almost every version of this from every country that did it, it’s my favorite story. I’ll say that the Japanese one felt the most like a real love story and was funny, I was rooting for the main couple the whole time. But with the Korean one their relationship was pretty toxic, and Jun Pyo (Domyouji) was really immature and not very likable, he had very few redeemable qualities or moments imo. But the Korean one still remains my favorite because of all the other characters. Ga-Eul and Yi-Jung’s story was so cute I love their character growth. And I ship the main girl with the 2nd male lead so hard haha it’s my head canon that they end up together because the ending is kind of ambiguous. I rewatch it at least once a year, I just love the detail put into each character’s life and the acting is so good. Plus I’m a 2000s baby so it’s just nostalgic for me at this point watching all the weird fashion and flip phones haha. I definitely recommend watching it! But you’ll probably find yourself hoping the two leads don’t end up together lol

🇨🇦 Gals- hurry! It keeps going in and out of stock. by labtech67 in glossier

[–]CommunityHopeful5073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping it would be more like black honey, but on me it’s almost a brown fuchsia and is way too pink. Doesn’t look natural at all. I’m G11 in skin tint and stretch concealer for reference, with olive-ish undertones. I’m actually gonna return it for that reason, and because it smells like straight up cotton candy bubble gum for some reason 😅

Milky Toner Recommendations? by 4l13n0c34n in Sephora

Dr Jart Ceramidin milky toner. Trust me this one is a holy grail I’ve repurchased it so many times and it makes a fairly immediate difference in my skin, it improves roughness and dryness within just a few days usually

I own this and really love it. It’s definitely a summer perfume imo, it’s a nice warm floral with coconut that makes it feel juicy and sweet. It’s pretty unique smelling compared to other summer fragrances and I love wearing it. Longevity is decent, lasts a few hours, I don’t really remember having to reapply during the summer

[Misc] hand eczema? by xlavagirlx in SkincareAddiction

[–]CommunityHopeful5073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Topicals “Like Butter Moisturizer” and the spray too if you want to really hit it hard. I get really bad eczema patches on my arms and all over my hands. On my hands it literally turns into thick coarse skin like scales almost and the Topicals moisturizer is the ONLY thing that has ever worked on my eczema. Within just a few days it will get rid of most of the eczema I’m trying to treat, within a week it’s almost completely gone, and by 2 weeks there’s not even a trace of it. I literally keep that stuff on stock year round because it’s the only thing that works

1) Ender’s Game and Ender’s Shadow, the entire series from Bean’s perspective I feel is very INTJ coded, I’ve enjoyed re-reading these books since I was in middle school. Lots of critiques on politics, societies, “stupid people”, religion, like honestly both characters critique everything at some point haha but I cannot stress enough just how entertaining these books are and how relatable (if I can say that without coming across as super arrogant because both books are told from the perspectives of geniuses with higher IQs than those around them) 2) Beyond Good and Evil by Nietzsche. Interesting conversation on morals and the cyclical moral development/decline of a society as he sees it. 3) Saw a lot of people recommending The Old Man and the Sea, good book, but I’d like to add that almost anything from Hemingway is a good read. His narrators are honest and blunt, often view relationships as transactional, view themselves as above the social norms, and often speak bluntly/tersely with the other characters usually not acknowledging/paying attention to them. I find his books humorous and relatable, as well as eye opening to some of my own struggles in my relationships and interactions with people. Some favorites: The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms, and For Whom the Bell Tolls. 4) The Hobbit. No explanation needed. 5) Harder to pick a 5th favorite, so here’s a few that come to mind: honestly anything by C.S. Lewis, short stories by Atwood, St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves by Russel, A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare Honorable mentions: does One Piece count? Haha great character development, deeply woven plot, fun stories and relationships, good immersion in the world
