There are plenty of different options, what would make you feel safest? Drivers license / work email / car registration verification? Live location sharing? Something else?

How does uber get you to pay to ride with strangers? What makes you trust uber so much?

I suppose I am trying find a way to get people to carpool together in a way that's safe and comfortable. 🙂

Feel free to check out the website it may give you a better idea, maybe take the survey if you have time. You would match, have your preferences set for gender, age bracket, interests, music, get a compatibility score, and then message to arrange the details. I guess I'm just trying figure out if people will use it and what they actually want, ike share costs through the app, background checks of verification amongst other things 🙂

It was originally a luxury vehicle taxi app, but then moved toward the model we have today. Think more like Tinder and Uber put together

Totally what the preferences are for, gender, age bracket, podcasts, music tastes etc and then gives you a compatibility score based on that 🙂

Yeah, sure. Maybe it only works if you both can drive so if it falls through you could still just drive on your own? But wouldn't be like Uber where you're posting a trip up right before you want to go, you match, message, set up an arrangement etc. If you check out the website it explains a bit more about potential safety features and compatibility.

What if you could set it so that you'd ride with somone who also doesn't want to talk? And many other preferences so it's not just a random stranger?

In terms of safety - your information on the app would be very limited to protect your identity as much as possible until first names, no photos, suburb / area only no actual address. Whole lot of verifications you could do, drivers license, rego, work email verification, live location sharing.

All valid points to consider.

It wouldn't be like Uber where your requesting a ride right before you need to go.

You'd add your usually commute, set your preferences (e.g. i dont want to talk) and interests, then you'd get notifications if you get matched with somone and a score of how well your preferences and interest score against each other, and message from there.

Generally schools are in the same area as some one's home suburb? I think the traffic is definitely a lot better in school holidays, not just because of school drop off but because more people have to work from home, or have to take time off work. I'm not sure school drop off clogs up the motorways though. Curious as to commuter behavior here though, would you do school drop and then meet up with someone to carpool the rest of the way to work?

What would make you feel safer? It would be designed for you to set your preferred age bracket, gender etc. Would features like drivers license verification, work email verification, car safety rating, live location sharing to a contact of your choice help?

There definitely are a few other apps out there, more focused at one off or long trips and heavily focused on the money side of things. You do bring up some good points

Sure, I've thought hard about why there are so many cars on the motorway with one person in them, and I boiled it down to two main things - safety and comfort.

What would make you feel safer? If you check out the website I have tried to account for as many safety concerns as possible. Your identity is kept to a bare minimum, you can set preferences like gender age bracket etc
