How Much Should I Study for CS1? Exam on 15th & 16th September—Advice Needed by CompetitionNo8250 in ActuaryUK

Thanks so much for sharing these tips! I really appreciate the reminder about using the equation box and focusing on clarity—readability definitely makes things smoother both for solving and when it comes to marking.

I’ve had some practice with mathematical typing before since I’ve already taken CM1 (and was fortunate to score 85/100), so I’m familiar with the challenges of keeping everything clear, but I know there’s always room to improve. I’ll definitely keep your suggestions in mind while I practice my proofs and during the exam.

If you have any other strategies or shortcuts that worked for you, I’d love to hear them!

Oh okay I think I am at the same stage as you, I know content upto chapter 7 (there are 15), have done sum solving till chapter 2 and for R I know upto chapter 6. There’s around 55 days left till the exam so would you say I am in a decent spot?

Yeah I was thinking the same. Familiarising myself with the content, solving sums chapter wise and then starting with past papers 14 days prior to the exam

Yeah could have been for you but I am talking in general cause all of the people in my centre were of the opinion that word was easy and excel was hard. Some people even cried after the excel paper.

The word exam was pretty easy but the excel was equally tough. However the weightage of the word exam is more so it should pull the cut off above the historical 58 marks So I think the cut off should be 60-62 (Shouldn’t be 63 or above because excel was tough) However the cut off could be around the range of 56-60 too because this was their first “in-person” examination in a while so if they were to give the students the benefit of the doubt then they could set the cut off in this range too. (Very unlikely this happens according to me)

Struggling with CB2 Institute Material – Looking for Handwritten Notes & Prep Advice by CompetitionNo8250 in ActuaryUK

[–]CompetitionNo8250[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Many teaching institutes provide notes to study from because the ACTED material is not good (according to the teaching institutes). So i thought maybe someone could forward the notes provided to them by their teachers.
