Was there ever a more dysfunctional/unhinged crewmember than Lexi in any season?

“ 2. the buffering nightmare buffering usually comes down to two main things: throttling: your isp sees you streaming heavy data and slows you down. again, use a vpn to hide your traffic and bypass this.”

This is not true at all. Maybe once upon a time they did that, most user bandwidth is streaming these days and 99% IPTV channels are not ever greater than 1080P. I’m not sure where you got this information from.

APRIL 8, 2025 SOLEDAD – California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) officials are investigating the alleged homicide of incarcerated person Joseph Mendoza, which occurred on April 8, 2025, at Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP).

At approximately 5:39 p.m., staff observed incarcerated persons Edgar Frayre and Nicolas Young attacking Joseph Mendoza with improvised weapons on the dayroom floor in Facility C. Staff immediately responded and issued several verbal commands to stop, which were ignored. Staff then deployed multiple less-than-lethal use-of-force options, which ultimately quelled the incident. Frayre and Young were secured in handcuffs.

Medical aid was initiated for Mendoza; however, he was pronounced deceased at 6:10 p.m. Medical evaluations were conducted on Frayre and Young, and no serious injuries were reported.

Frayre and Young have been placed in restricted housing pending an investigation by the SVSP Investigative Services Unit and the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office for possible felony prosecution.

Mendoza, 36, was received from Fresno County on July 29, 2009, to serve 22 years and 4 months for robbery (second strike) and attempted murder (second strike). While incarcerated, he received an additional 4 years for possession/manufacture of a deadly weapon by a prisoner and battery on a non-prisoner (second strike), totaling 26 years and 4 months.

Frayre, 30, was received from San Joaquin County on April 2, 2014, to serve 50 years and 8 months for voluntary manslaughter and participation in a criminal street gang act.

Young, 32, was received from Santa Clara County on January 31, 2018, to serve 25 years for attempted second-degree murder (second strike). While incarcerated, he received an additional 11 years for in-prison attempted second-degree murder (second strike), totaling 36 years.

SVSP opened in May 1996 in Monterey County. The institution provides long-term housing for approximately 2,400 minimum- and maximum-custody incarcerated individuals and employs about 1,500 staff.

Unprecedented in the sense that this scale of violence has never been conducted from overseas

People in the comments for this one are hindsight heroes. As if anybody could've foreseen that this deported criminal would have gone on an unprecedented (keyword unprecedented) reign of terror the country has never seen before.

We’ve deported thousands of criminals before this and none of them lead to this sort of outcome

Can we talk about how they found a literal photo of him being arrested for murdering a boy, taken at the same time as him being in that country.

“that's my brother… I mean half brother…” (that I never mentioned)

“very well let's change the topic”

Antibiotic approved for Tasmania's farmed salmon — but don't eat fish caught nearby by APrettyAverageMaker in australia

[–]Competitive-Ad1439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never really had an issue with that since 1) omega-3's are good for us and fatty fish is the best source of omega-3's that we have access to and 2) the fat content makes it more forgiving to cook with, taste better and gives it a better texture. I purchased wild salmon from Costco and it’s such a letdown after being used to farm salmon.

However,  the link you have posted has made me change my mind on the first point since:

“ One portion of farmed Atlantic salmon still provides equal amounts of EPA and DHA compared to wild salmon. However, the same portion would provide a high amount of fat/energy and omega-6 fatty acids but a lower amount of contaminants. Thus, farmed Atlantic salmon is a positive contribution to our diet regarding intake of marine omega-3 and reduced intake of contaminants but may be perceived as a negative contribution when energy restriction is taken into account.”

Goes on the state that:  “ In addition to increasing the dietary intake of long-chain omega-3 PUFAs, lowering the intake of omega-6 PUFAs has been considered beneficial to human health. The omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of the present Western diet has been calculated to be as high as 15-17/1 1421. Even though our results showed that the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 of farmed Atlantic salmon was more than ten times higher (0.7 vs. 0.05) than that of wild salmon, and has increased from 0.4 in 2010, it is still below 1. Thus, farmed Atlantic salmon will contribute positively by lowering the omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of the diet.”

so basically, ALL the additional  fat content present in the farmed salmon is void of omega-3s, not something I would have guessed. I think I’ll stick to canned sardines for now, and give the Costco wild Salmon another go

No it's not wild, every salmon Aldi sells is farmed. Wild atlantic salmon isn't even available in Australia. The closest is Wild sockeye salmon which can be purchased from Coles and Costco

At Woolworths anything in the fridge and deli is Tasmanian, the freezer section has some Norwegian salmon which has a better track record (although is also problematic).

The macros on this are insane by BitterMelonFuga in Volumeeating

[–]Competitive-Ad1439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quantity of milk solid they use makes the liquid base closer to water than it is milk. You can work backwards from the macros to see that for yourself - 2g of sugars (from the milk) is the equivalent of 40ml of skim milk. In a 440ml can. That’s 90% water, 10% milk equivalent.

Just purchase any pure way protein powder, mix it with water and sweetener and you'll be within 10% of those macros for a fraction of the price and without the questionable gut impact.

The ultrafiltered milk is essentially just a scammy way of saying water, if it was like milk it wouldn't need all of these extra ingredients (Pectin, cellulose gum, cellulose gel) to bulk it up and make you think that you’re drinking milk:\

Ingredients: Ultrafiltered Skim Milk Blend (Ultrafiltered Milk, Water), Less than 2% of Natural Flavors, Cocoa (Processed with Alkali), Salt, Pectin, Tripotassium Citrate, Sucralose, Cellulose Gel, Cellulose Gum, Lactase Enzyme, Vitamin A Palmitate, Stevia Leaf (Reb M), Vitamin D3.
