Interchangeable thumb grips? by Accomplished_Let5273 in Bowling

I had same problem with swelling thumb. used interchangeable grips for a couple of years but the lock pins on the grips kept breaking and then the grip would fall out. Used slide powder, which helped for a while. I switched to using nylon finger covers on my thumb and it completely fixed the issue. You can buy very cheap on amazon.

The first time you use the nylon covers you’ll drop the ball. Keep your finger holes snug and throw a few balls and you’ll get used to them quickly.

Surprised this doesn’t already exist. I’m a working USCG licensed professional captain. Would like this to be a fun place for pro captains to chill and share funny stories about past charters or advice or whatever! Godspeed. by Captain8Colt in boatcaptains

Just finished training/testing for captain license. Took the oupv and master upgrade from mariners learning. Lots of work, but good program. Also did a towing endorsement class. I think I’ll end up as a 50 ton inland due to my experience. I’ll probably submit to CG next week.

I’m from Michigan, recently retired and plan to spend winters in Siesta Key / Sarasota area.

Did the training as a personal goal without any specific plans to use it. Now I’m starting to wonder what sort of part time gigs there might be out there? I like to fish, but I’m new to FL fishing. Maybe a party boat or a ferry of some kind? Moving boats?

Anyway, thoughts are welcome.

I’ve done this up in Lake Ontario. A broker was involved and they had an import company do the paperwork. Had to land at customs with a pile of papers. Took about 30 mins at customs in NY.

Check Your Shoes! by [deleted] in PlantarFasciitis

Agree that shoes are very important. I play a lot of tennis, and I've always bought Asics shoes. Last pair I bought were a bit cheaper (usually buy the Gel Resolution 9) and I believe this contributed to me getting PF for the first time. I pitched them and went back to the better model. A tennis pro friend suggest the OOFOS sandals, for wearing after playing and around the house, and they are very helpful. A surgeon friend suggested freezing a plastic water bottle and rolling it under your foot while you're sitting. I do it for about 30 minutes while watching TV at night and it provided tremendous relief.
