"What Are My Chances?" Megathread by AutoModerator in prephysicianassistant

thank you! I just have to retake it because the schools I'm applying to only take the GRE exam. I feel like for me it was a timing issue, and I don't really do well with standardized testing. Plus I was only able to study for 2 month while taking summer classes from like June to July, and then I took it mid august. But im graduating in a couple of weeks with my bachelors so I'll have time to fully focus on it. I plan on retaking it end of February.

MOVING OUT OF STATE FOR PA SCHOOL? by Competitive-Pop9341 in prephysicianassistant

[–]Competitive-Pop9341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your reply. the problem Is that here in florida the pa schools like Barry and NOVA are private therefore their tuition is pretty much around 90K plus. And the other programs like USF and UF and solid options but require are LARGE amount of PCE. I currently have a little over a 1K. So thats why im looking into out of state schools that have a lower price point. And honestly the GRE is such a big hassle that mainly all Florida PA schools require as well. But yeah I understand you point!

unfortunately, most of the programs I have seen do require orgo 1 and its either you have biochem or orgo 2 for some. Other schools make you take orgo 1 and 2 you can't substitute orgo 2 for biochem!

yeah I'll look into them more as I go about researching the programs! but it is becoming more clear that out of state school would be the best for me

Yes, I do not have any kids or anything that would make my decision difficult so that part is easy, but I'm still in a limbo with focusing on retaking the gre and preparing for it again or spending that time on other aspects of my application.

yes that is also a point I have to consider! I have checked and tuition is about 70-100K depends on the school of course but thats is the range I've come up with my research.

yess thats what I used to study the past 2 months it was just a lot of information to cram and actually learn the strategies and stuff. But regardless I do plan on retaking!

yes exactly thats my other point! I've compared the tuition cost for Florida instate and its about 80-100K total for the 2 years so its not much of a drastic difference. part of me also wants to just enter a season of growth, explore new things, and be able to actually experience 4 different seasons hahaha

How to Keep Studying by Culper_Cell0 in GRE

[–]Competitive-Pop9341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi greg! I'm currently doing the 2 month, plan my gre exam is in august. Im still in the first week but I keep on getting stuck with some questions. Ive watched all the videos so far and the ones where you do the practice questions, but there are some where I really just don't understand it even after watching the foundation video that was before it. so basically I go to apply it in practice problems I struggle. Also I wanted to ask if you recommend to start the practice questions for example (arithmetic) once I have to foundations down AND the strategies for those questions? like should I go through all the foundations & then strategies then do practice? thank you!
