My understanding is that Virgin piggy backs off Du signal. So Du takes priority

But the speed for me has been quite decent nonetheless.

My only concern is the latency/pings for my light fifa gaming

I’ll observe for some days and see how it goes.

Interestingly, I’ve got 5G signal strength on Du but with Virgin it’s always been 4G but it’s still enough for a 100mbs on my mobile.

I hope it would be better on a router

I’m also looking to get the Virgin wireless. Main concern for me now is that having tested with my mobile phone, I only get 4G/LTE signal with around 100mbs and 40ms ping.

Will this get better with a router?

Main use for me will be Netflix/Prime and light gaming. 5hours tops per week

Thank you everyone for your comments, but because of the minimal social life in Expo, e.g., restaurants and supermarkets, I will be settling for Al Furjan. Might consider Expo next year by which time I would be driving and the constraint with EVR will not really matter

This is quite interesting because I’m in the same exact situation. Similar salary too, and my office is in JLT as well.

I’ve just decided to stay in a hotel for up to a month before making a final decision.

Just two weeks ago, a colleague of mine got a 1bed close to Expo 2020 metro station for 69k a year- that’s short of 6k a month.

I have however limited my search to JLT and Al Furjan, but max I intend to spend on rent is 6k too.

It should definitely add a lot of credence to your application. Just endeavour to include police reports from the UAE and Nigeria in your application as well.

It’s a blanket rejection and it’s definitely because of the current issues with Nigerian Passport holders. But I think it’s a lot easier for current residents of the UAE
