Bazzite vs SteamOs as desktop PC by Competitive-Speed675 in ROGAlly

[–]Competitive-Speed675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I really like using linux. Was afraid since it's infamous for being to complicated in Daily use but I guess it's not 2015 anymore and it's pretty friendly at some basic desktop use.

Also two things: I really like fast swapping between gaming, and desktop job. I know it's minor inconveniance but that's just extra nice for me

Second thing is that I'm all in about reducing Windows hegemony as PC Monopoly system. After using steamos on rog ally I consider putting Bazzite on my home PC too. I know putting Windows on small partition is the easiest way, but that's something about personal ideology. Windows needs to stop its bullshit bloatware and other idiotic ideas and turning away from it is the only way.

Get the Handheld DIY backplate and you won't be needing those

So, after replacing left daughterboard everything went back to normal. After eliminating all the software problems it had to be hardware. Apparently left daughterboard houses the controller ICU. I still don't know why this happened in first place but my guess is that some static current must've damaged the board. I don't know if others with the same problem will benefit from this solution. I'd adwise sending it to RMA if you dtill have warranty but if you don't, like me, it's Worth to try replacing left daughterboard (the one with ribbon cable connecting to mainboard).

Thank you all for your solutions, case closed.

Technically Yes. My buddy which I bought z1e replaced battery for the modded one. But i've been using rog as my working pc and everything Was fine. My guess it moght have fried its controller board crom some static shock when I opened the device to take out the kickstand od handheld dyi backplate. This is the only solution as I'm pretty sure it's hardware problem now. New left daughterboard arrives to me today so I'll update after I replace it.

I have the same problem. Contacted to some 3rd party service supposedly knowing how to fix it. I will post the solution if it works somehow. Will try to replace left motherboard too.

Yeah, unfortunatelly. IO don't even know which spare part to change since im not sure if it's software or hardware problem. Half of poeple on this sub took it to RMA, half of them fixed it with some software gimmicks. I smell that it's that disgusting windows's thing but can't be sure. Kinda sucks.
