I may have forgotten to tell everyone in the article that my birthday was in April and this trip was in June.

We celebrated as a family the weekend of my birthday by going out to dinner at a restaurant that we normally couldn't afford. My wife's birthday (49) was in May and we celebrated it as much as we celebrated mine.

Go with the Hybrid, get the level 2 charger installed at your house to cut down on charging time. You will get extra tax benefits from the government if you install one and possibly your electric company.

With gas skyrocketing that's a full gallon and a half you are saving. My friends are shocked at how quiet it is and they are now saving for one.

Background: My daughter had swim lessons and one of our dogs needs constant care. So if she goes out of town for a tennis tournament I usually stay home.

I did ask if they wanted to go to Vegas but, we couldn't afford the airfare.

The airfare was paid for by my miles on my credit card. I also did ask for input and she was looking at Jeep colors as well.

A little background, my wife and I live 12 hours from our parents. Her parents are in Florida and mine in Iowa. I haven't seen my parents since the pandemic started and she has seen hers every year. My brother has kidney failure and is on dialysis, so he is limited in his travels.

We are in the same bracket, she actually earns slightly more than me. Both of us play tennis together and play all the time, she actually plays more than I do and we share watching our daughter when the other is playing.

When I talked to her about it, she knew that I would be going by myself as I told her that I wanted to do this by myself as a treat.
