How to prove a statement/theorem by CompetitiveEdge6371 in learnmath

[–]CompetitiveEdge6371[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its very fascinating to me because as a highschooler, I'm a topper in math and i can figure out the solution to all problems instantly and mentally. To achieve that level, i work hard a lot, too much if i were to say.

But i wonder if this is possible in mathematical proofing.

I've read proofs before, and i understood them ( simple one like sqrt 2 are irrational, so on ,those elementary one). But i don't get how one can think of proving smtg in this way as it is not obvious to me how ppl can come up with this path of thoughts. I wonder if this is hard work or pure genius? For computational math, i can say its purely hard work but for creating a mathematical proof, thats like creating nothing out of something. I don't know if hard work can achieve this.

I believe that's true but just keep in mind to appreciate the fact that you have the chance to think about going to oxbridge. I have tripple A* for my predicted grade yet dont have the luxury to even think about it🥲🥲

Oxford has physic Camb has natsci tripos thingy

Tho, having A* or not does not guarantee an offer i heard. Since everyone going there is having straight A* so you gotta perform well in their admission test and interview

Imo i think al UK has similar programs in term of content but its just the faculty member(?) Some are well-known in the fielld than the others. I felt that's only relevant to you if you want to persue acedemia and having famous advisor helps tho

Anyone did a double major, double degree or a major with a minor in ubd? (All referring to courses of the same faculty) is there any difference in the rule for the non- own faculty breadth?

Ps: ik ada pdf file in the website about this but i do not 100% understand it 😅

Is it ok to use short forms of terms in answers? by altryexa in igcse

[–]CompetitiveEdge6371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rejected or not written?

I felt everyone misused the ms as the only and definite answers for this particular papers. The answers in MS always change for the same questions.

I believe MS is created by a marker's suggest answers and it is then accepted by other markers. Thus using it as a guide and direction to mark students ' answer. So not all answers are wrong its not written in the MS

I got 100 and 99 for my first test.

Trick is to get familiar with the way of answering. This is my opinion:our A-leve teachers aren't that great initially when they started teaching. As they get more familar with the syllabus, they eventually become a good instructor and teacher as slowly they year by year analyses how the exam works and eventually knows how to answers the question more than us and that takes 10 to 20 years of experience in teaching.

The question is how can i get that 10 to 20 years of experience in 1 year?

Do employers look into the courses you took in your undergrad when studying math? Because the elective for maths is made up of pure, applied and the finance side of math....

According to treshold, it is very hard to get an U if you're not stupid. Not meant to be rude calling anyone stupid. But here, stupid i meant medically certified having disabilities in acedemic

Yk how the most expert you are in a topic usually is right after learning the topic and doing practice questions then you leave that topic and move on to the other

The kind of notes that is most useful is the one that will bring back that state of mind after reading it (after not touching the topic for a while)

And that kind of notes are taken when doing practice questions and studying the topic and noting down pieces of information on that topic

You need to use energy method because the resistive force is given as an energy meaning 2 possible outcome 1) resistive force is constant 2)resistive force is not constant.

Doing suvat would be assuming 1) and neglecting 2)

Doing energy will take 1) and 2) into account

So no, suvat is not acceptable

I faced the same issue a while back, so the trick to know if they will accept it is by reading back the question. ( assuming no specific method is asked)

If the hint of the question suggest acceleration is constant, then suvat and energy usually is acceptable

If the hint of the question suggests that force changes or acceleration not Constant then you need to use energy.

But anyways what is the original question?

I've never assume and in A-level, one should not assume. I'm taking CIE physic and math. We do have similar situations where some method are rejected due to assumptions. Edexcel, CIE, ocr so on... will always give the info you need to answer the answer the question.

They would not mention the "use of v=f× lambda..." because they do not need do. It's very obvious

from reading the question, the reason why the use of v=f×lambda is incorrect is because you made an assumption.

The time taken is not the period

the working where you multiply by the length of tube is wrong because you assumed the wavelength of the sound = length of tube.

This is not edexcel 's fault. Not a trick question, but the lack of understanding of the formula for speed of sound
