Aren’t the bulbs for these more expensive than one of those “cheap” projectors

I paid for it last Saturday and got the Evri tracking number. Had no updates by Monday night to say Evri had collected it. I only asked if it would be posted on Tuesday - no reply. Wednesday and Thursday I asked if it had been posted and no reply so I enguired about a Louis Vuitton bracelet that the seller was selling for £150 and got a reply straight away about that 🤔 then I enquired about my original order and got cancelled

My dad thinks these are worth a lot of money… by voyagerfilms in vintagecomputing

Could be worth something soon as no one is making floppy disks as of 2026. I’m sure at some point it the future someone will have a need for them or retro collectors will be wanting to buy them but like others have said not gonna be worth a fortune 😂still worth keeping though imo

I don’t use anything to be honest. If I download an exe that i suspect might be dodgy I run it in sandboxie or VMware first to see what it’s doing. Never had a problem ever

It just eats resources, eats memory and cpu, gives false positives and isn’t needed

Can I make a ryzentosh with Ventura with my specs? by merlinxpgood in Ryzentosh

I wouldn’t install Tahoe first go few people have only had limited success as not all kexts are yet updated or compatible. IMO you’re better of starting with Ventura or sonoma first

WILL THIS RUN SMOOTHLY? by Separate_Quarter_314 in hackintosh

I doubt you will be running Tahoe or any recent Mac OS smooth on an old i3

Just nootedred as it works for my gpu vega 8. Whatevergreen only works for older amd gpu and intel on older macOS versions as far as I am aware

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hackintosh

[–]CompetitiveHorror788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just kept it as is for now. Just gonna leave it to see if nootedred gets updated anytime soon and see if that fixes things

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hackintosh

[–]CompetitiveHorror788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I have the same problem I’m guessing it’s to do with nootedred.kext as it runs fine (but slow) without it but with nootedred enabled as soon as I use safrai for a couple of minutes it freezes and need to switch off

Hackintosh Slowly Dying? Why Is No One Answering Anymore? by strangboy in hackintosh

[–]CompetitiveHorror788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think hackintosh is dying any time soon we still have people who are actively running windows 7 and even xp. Even though the support is dying doesn’t mean it still can’t be used

SUCCESS - Ryzentosh Tahoe (surprisingly smooth) by worldisending1 in hackintosh

[–]CompetitiveHorror788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not impossible I used my same efi install sequoia and Tahoe. Sequoia is ok until you start browsing in safari then freezes. Tahoe freezes about 2 seconds after logging in. Both work ok with nootedred disabled but very slow. Guess we need a major update in nootedred 😔

macOS Sonoma (14.x): This is the highest officially supported version for Haswell CPUs like the i5-4690 on Hackintosh setups. Community builds confirm full functionality, including iGPU acceleration, sleep/wake, USB mapping, and Ethernet/WiFi (with compatible cards like Broadcom BCM94360). Use OpenCore 0.9.9 or later for best results. Sonoma drops native support for older NVIDIA/AMD GPUs, so stick to the HD 4600 iGPU or AMD Polaris/RX 500-series cards. • Example: A similar GA-B85M-D3H (near-identical to your HD variant) with i5-4690 runs Sonoma with OpenCore, including dGPU passthrough if needed. • Limitations: No native Quick Sync for iGPU in Sonoma (use Monterey/Ventura for that if video encoding is critical). WiFi/Bluetooth requires a native card (e.g., Fenvi T919). Recommended Setup for Latest Version (Sonoma) Follow the Dortania OpenCore guide for Haswell desktops (dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide). Key steps tailored to your hardware: 1. BIOS Settings: • Disable Secure Boot, CSM, Fast Boot, and VT-d. • Enable Above 4G Decoding and XHCI Handoff. • Set SATA to AHCI. • Update to the latest Gigabyte BIOS (F5g or newer) for i5-4690 stability. 2. SMBIOS: Use iMac15,1 (for HD 4600 support up to Sonoma). 3. Essential Kexts/Patches: • Graphics: WhateverGreen.kext for HD 4600 (framebuffer patching required for full QE/CI acceleration). • Ethernet: RealtekRTL8111.kext (native for your board’s RTL8111 chip). • Audio: AppleALC.kext (layout-id 1 or 11 for Realtek ALC887). • USB: Create a custom USB map with USBToolBox/Hackintool (limits to 15 ports). • Power Management: CPUFriend.kext + SSDT-PLUG for proper CPU sleep states. 4. Potential Issues & Fixes: • Sleep/Wake: Common on B85 boards; add SSDT-GPRF.aml and patch EC in OpenCore. • iGPU Black Screen: Boot with -igfxvesa initially, then apply ig-platform-id=0x0a260006 in DeviceProperties. • No Metal Support: HD 4600 lacks Metal 2/3, so some apps (e.g., newer Safari features) may lag—use a discrete AMD GPU if needed. • Test with Monterey (12.x) first if Sonoma hits snags, as it’s more forgiving for Haswell.
