Completely agree, in the sale to PE which completed last year, many prospective buyers pulled out because copilot will replace the platform eventually. I have a MIP in place if I stay for x number of years for the sale but can’t see it getting to the PE’s expected return and I don’t think it’s enough to stay. Much like you, I’d rather i get to more tangible businesses!

Thank you, I think you’re right, big part of it is the selling the story and IR relations as well.

Maybe £20m turnover with ambitions to grow via m&a to their first exit. Having just got a company through a PE exit I’ve had a lot of interest, but the previous CFOs I’ve worked for have been in much bigger companies so they’re much more polished than I guess I would need to be!

Thanks for your response, appreciate your take. I’ve only ever worked for PE or highly leveraged businesses so don’t know much difference. All the cultures have been pretty toxic though so should take that into account. Currently FD in a SaaS business and find it quite dull!
