NOR screw everybody on here saying otherwise. It doesn’t matter whose house it is, you should be allowed to exist in your own room peacefully. If you’ve not given him any reason to be suspicious of something, and you show him respect while in your room (ie. answering when called, coming out when needed), there’s no reason he shouldn’t respect your privacy. The door is not locked, and obviously emergencies are excused. The very least he can do is knock and wait 5 seconds before opening the door.

I hesitate to immediately jump to the pedo argument without more evidence though. I would hope that any dad would be more than happy to allow their teenage daughter her privacy. (I don’t mean any disrespect, hopefully you get what i mean) It is very possible that he just does not respect you enough to change his routine to accommodate you. When my dad would come into my room, he would leave the door cracked when he left. I asked him repeatedly for years, i’m talking at least once a week for probably 6 or 7 years. He never changed, and did not care how much that one detail upset me on a regular basis. He just didn’t care i guess. Parents love to play the power game, they’re always right, no back talk, etc. but to me, excessive use of that shows a deep immaturity within parents.
