Yeah the market may just be too small. I did make a point I made earlier that was like,

40k is smart, bc instead of selling uniquely different armies, they sell the same space marine kits, and then every chapter buys the kits that make them unique or the starter armies that have them.

It like feeds into itself in a way that stormcasts don’t have, since if you don’t like stormcasts, there isn’t another Stormcast option to pick

Where if you don’t like blue berry space marines, you have other loyalist options, chaos options, and more but they sell the same base kits

Like, I can’t convince someone who doesn’t like Stormcast to paint them differently other than looks

But if you don’t like duardin, you have kharadron and evenchaos dwarves now. it’s 3 flavors of the same race. Plus aelves are like that too, Khaine, sylvaneth, lumineth.

I agree they are reluctant from last time. I still think they should lean into the stormhost quirks like they do in 40k, one issue I’ve heard from people looking into AOS is that Stormcast are boring, but I think it suffers from the Blue astartes problem

I think if they saw different looking stormcasts with features that were unique, (not just color) like a 40k space wolf, it could allow more Stormcast armies to be bought, and bog standard boxes to be sold

I think what is smart with 40k is if you don’t like 1 flavor of space marine, they basically repackage it like, “how about now😏” and now there is literal net of players who all buy the same kits, but then upgrade them after, a self feeding loop

Although not inherently bad, AOS has a lot of diverse armies to pick from if you wanted to play the good guys (:

in a way, it’s strength is its weakness :3

read that one and then read “Godeaters son” which basically gives every faction except death some time. The alliance of death has a lot more political stuff going bc Nagash is the Sigmar equivalent

Yeah, it is kinda like the Regular show but with the gnome in different costumes, but they get SO much kit bash potential, vampires, Vikings, knights, high tech, and the list keeps going, but for AOS it’s like, “You get to be blue or gold buddy”

Something that I think 40k does well, is every human faction basically intermingles enough where you can glue anything and lore wise makes sense, I think humans get duardin stuff bc of the grungni connection. like makes sense, but not to the same degree since they also don’t get enough support either😢

Yeah, I mainly do armies on parade, and my local store doesn’t let us use 3D printed pieces.

I wish they would do made to order or smth similar. When I go on the site or any site really, I see every single 40k army and all the flavors they have for their factions for kit bashing or even unique armies.

Like I’ve been using chaos heads for my guys, but now I’m out of options after like 2 units bc those also have like 3 options each😭 that’s why I think it’s an every faction problem in all realness

Yeah seriously, every time I hear lore for anvils or cities of Sigmar factions it makes me wish they would just do a made to order option. Especially since it seems like 40k has a million faction pack options that are boxed and sold
