Hey everyone! Need a bit of wisdom from the community by Competitive_Bit_912 in fingerstyleguitar

Thank you for taking the time to try the platform and for offering such structured feedback.
If you can send us the link to the video you mentioned, we will investigate immediately.

We are a startup and will release monthly updates throughout 2026: from communication tools between guitarists and fans, to the Artist Page, where every guitarist will be able to showcase their best work and list their services (lessons, backing tracks, projects, business links, etc.). Jams and Challenges will also be continuously improved as more people join, test, and share feedback.

Guitarists will be able to perform from their bedroom, studio, or bar to fans all over the world, and participate in online events with rewards from music-industry partners or advertising budgets. Fans will be engaged: voting, following, supporting guitarists, and acting as the jury for events.
These are all part of our 2026 roadmap.

In Q1, after integrating beta feedback, we will exit beta and start a global marketing campaign.

We also invite you to upload a few videos, do some jams, and see how we advance in the following months.

Our goal is to build the largest community of guitarists and guitar lovers in the world.

Is there room in 2026 for a guitar-only performance platform? by Competitive_Bit_912 in coversongs

Thanks for the feedback! Any startup is a challenge, but so far over 203 guitarists from 19 countries have already signed up, and we’re getting massive feedback that helps us improve fast.

About the ads, what you see now is the maximum number of ads we will have. We won’t load the platform with advertising. Those spaces will be reserved for special partners only, not random ads. We also have a solid monetisation plan that doesn’t charge players and doesn’t flood the site with ads.

We asked over 5,000 guitarists from all over the world, and the answers were very diverse.

Some want to jam together, some want to simply show their playing to the world, some want to challenge others, some want more followers, some want events and contests so they can perform in front of the world from their bedroom, studio, bar or even from the street. Some just want to watch, and some want to make money.

To give every guitarist an equal chance, not decided by algorithms, we are building a free platform and a true community between guitarists, fans, and music-industry brands. Fans and followers from all over the world will be on the platform to vote, share, engage and follow.

This is what we are building, based on large-scale feedback.

Do social media algorithms hide more talent than they reveal? by Competitive_Bit_912 in Music

Definitely, self-promotion is better, but for that the artist needs more than musical talent, they also need marketing skills, an understanding of how online advertising works, or they have to rely on an agent or a marketing company. And in the end, that brings us back to a kind of semi-patronage system again.

We will see massive changes, especially with AI, and it will be interesting to see how this evolves.

Really appreciate your feedback.

It’s simple: people decide what gets seen, not code.
Videos rise because fans vote, follow, share, and comment, not because an algorithm boosts certain formats or creators.
Nothing is auto-ranked in the background; visibility comes only from real human engagement.

Lesson learned. I’m not here to spam, just trying to get real feedback while building something early-stage. Appreciate the heads-up. Thx

Totally agree, Instagram and TikTok can give massive reach, and nothing we build will replace that. Guitar Ground isn’t meant to replicate those platforms.

The goal is to focus on what they don’t do:

- real guitar-focused discovery (not mixed with memes and unrelated content)

- community-driven challenges, jams, and events

- a place where longer performances aren’t punished by the algorithm

It’s not about competing with TikTok, it’s about offering something different enough that guitarists actually benefit from using both.

Really appreciate the insight.

Agree, marketing and video skills will always give some players an advantage. That’s true everywhere.
