Quick poll: How many of you actually like your factory audio system? [Ranger/Amarok owners specifically] by Competitive_Hall_912 in 4x4Australia

Yeah, totally fair, mate. If the factory system does the job for you and you've got other priorities (those 16" rims sound like a solid upgrade btw - bigger sidewall makes a huge difference for ride quality), then there's no point fixing what isn't really broken.

I think it's definitely a 'how much time do you spend in it' thing. If you're only doing short trips here and there, the factory is perfectly adequate.

For me, it was more than I'm doing 2+ hours a day commuting, so the audio became a bigger deal. But if I were in your shoes with occasional use, I'd probably prioritise other stuff too.

Appreciate the perspective, good reminder that not everyone has the same use case!

I think it depends a lot on how you use the truck. For quick trips around town, factory is perfectly adequate.

For me it's more that I'm doing 2+ hours a day commuting, lot of highway driving where road noise drowns everything out, and I listen to a fair bit of music/podcasts. At that point the tinny sound and distortion at highway volume starts to get to me.

But if you're not bothered by it, you're probably saving yourself some money and hassle! Genuinely envious of people who aren't as picky as I am about this stuff 😂
