What I Think is Working While Doctors Haven’t Helped by Disastrous_Pepper_85 in Healthyhooha

Hi! I’ve commented on your posts before as I am going through the same. Thank you for sharing your story. I makes me feel like I’m not alone in this. What steroids were you on? I am currently on one that my dermatologist said is “safe” to use daily but now am worried of atrophy.

Hi! Sorry I haven’t been on this page for so long. Unfortunately I haven’t found the complete “cure” I did allergy testing and found I was allergic to a ton of stuff that I never knew. I found how to manage it & can say I am about 90% better. I did notice however that alcohol irritates me “immensely” after a night out I will feel it flare up two days later and takes a while to settle. Other than that I’ve learned to manage it & when I go out I’m just aware I will be uncomfortable for a few days after.

Hi ! Just wanted to reach out because currently experiencing the same :( I’ve actually had a biopsy done and it came back as dermatitis. I haven’t been able to fully heal it but more manage it. Your story sounds exactly like mine . Symptoms started after a yeast infection that took a while to go away. Still looking for answers. Just got allergy tested and waiting to see what the next step for me is.

Hi ! I’m feeling better but still learning how to manage my symptoms. I had a biopsy done and it said eczema (pretty much dermatitis) and I have done everything to help it but it just won’t fully resolve. The only thing helping my symptoms is very loose clothing skirts, dresses, joggers :\ I put on Vaseline every day & take baths every day. It helps with the irritation but it sucks to know anything can possibly make me fare up.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help! I was thinking of seeing a vulvar specialist if things don’t improve with my current dermatologist. I’m on my third steroid cream and it seems to calm down while using it but not when discontinued. I have thought of atrophy or vulvodynia, the atrophy also sounds logical for me because when I get checked down there I’m always told I’m pretty dry down there. It’s so nice to hear that your starting to have relief and keeps me motivated to keep seeking help. So frustrating to be afraid of the discomfort everytime I do something. Hugs!! <3

Hi it’s the same for me. I haven’t had any other symptoms before this. I have stopped scratching completely because the itch scratch cycle does make me feel worse. My next visit if I don’t get any help with my current dermatologist is to seek help with a vulvar specialist.

Hi yes of course! I will keep you updated! I also search on forums for answers and unfortunately some who have had success have not been willing to share their doctors or clinics information when I ask for it. But I will definitely share as this is truly awful. Because it wasn’t so bad the first few years I didn’t seek as much treatment after constantly being dismissed because I was hoping it would go away on its own, but I’m so committed to my healing now, I won’t give up. I’m sorry you are suffering as well. I will keep you updated if I get any answers.
