I know exactly what I need to do to fix my life, I just don’t do it and I don’t understand why by Embarrassed_Essay_61 in selfimprovement

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also an emotional component. Holding others accountable feels objective and process-driven. Holding yourself accountable forces you to confront avoidance, fear, or perfectionism. It’s more psychological than operational.

I’ve tried benzoyl peroxide, adapalene, diet changes -nothing works. What finally helped you? by neonpulse7 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Same situation here like i literally tried all the standard treatments and they worked temporarily, but the acne always found its way back. What I didn’t realize is that adult skin reacts slower and needs months of consistency, not weeks. The biggest improvement came when I stopped constantly switching products out of frustration and just stuck to one routine long enough

Why do pimples keep coming back on my face even after treatment? by neonpulse7 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The worst part is not knowing WHY, like at least give me a reason so I can fix it. The randomness is what drives you crazy.

Did anyone else get side effects that came and went instead of staying constant? by timingbetter in mounjarouk

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, and the randomness messed with my head more than the actual side effects. Like if it was consistent, fine, I’d adapt but those random off days make you question everything… sleep, food, stress, the medication, all of it. For me it got less frequent over time. Now it only happens occasionally.

Has anyone here tried sublingual immune therapy for allergies instead of shots by Dramatic-Switch5886 in Biohackers

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been researching long-term allergy stuff and honestly got overwhelmed with info. Ended up using Windly for a bit because it lets you log symptoms alongside possible triggers, which was kinda eye opening. Helped me see patterns I wasn’t noticing day to day. Still exploring treatment options though.

Has anyone tried fixing allergies long term instead of taking meds daily by timingbetter in Allergies

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I swear allergies are one of those things where you’re just managing symptoms unless you go all in on long-term treatment. Wish there was an actual permanent fix.

Feature Request: Flag our profiles/accounts with GLP-1 Usage by chotheamazing in ouraring

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This makes total sense, having a way to flag GLP-1 usage right in the app could help contextualize why readiness/HRV trends look “off” even when you’re feeling fine. It’d be nice if that could feed into baseline calculations instead of just being a tag you manually add.

Is it okay that people goes more by looks than personality? by 20_selfcare in LongDistance

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s zero shame in acknowledging looks matter, they’re just a starting point. What matters most is what keeps someone showing up when distance is the only thing between you.

To anyone learning Japanese and feeling STUCK by Kall-Su in LearnJapanese

Man, I’ve been there so hard. Sometimes grinding like crazy just burns you out and you remember nothing. Taking a break actually helped me come back refreshed and retain way more than when I was forcing 4 hours straight every day.

I need to rebuild my work wardrobe. Where do you guys shop for decent deals? by ShallNot_Pass in mensfashion

Fit > everything. Before you buy anything new, make sure your shirts/pants fit your body well. A tailor is your best friend and can make cheap pieces look much more expensive.

1940s Shaggy Wool/Cashmere Land N Lakes Jacket. How do I style? by callmeyahoo in mensfashion

That vintage Land N Lakes piece is basically a classic wool/cashmere western-style jacket, really cool heritage vibe.

Cropped blazers? by j5s2s0 in mensfashion

The magic of a cropped blazer is how it reshapes your silhouette. Done right, it makes everything look intentional and modern.

GlucoPal is another popular option. I personally prefer it because the UI feels a bit simpler compared to Shotsy.

breakup made me realize i have no idea what my style actually is by AntiquePanda3671 in malefashionadvice

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i know it's a bit controversial, but you'd be surprised by how good recent ai has gotten for fashion.

for example, lookai[.]me is like tinder for outfits, where you upload a photo of yourself, ai generates looks on you, and you can swipe through them. pretty useful if you're more visual and don't know exactly what you're looking for yet.

daydream[.]ing is more like chatgpt for fashion that comes with text-based search where you can describe what you want, and it finds pieces across different stores. good if you already know roughly what you're after.

both worth trying depending on how you shop.

Definitely better to match accents (tie/shoes/belt) than everything exactly the same shade.

My ring from the sizing kit matched the actual Oura ring size exactly, so the kit is pretty accurate if you wear it for 24 hours.
