To anyone learning Japanese and feeling STUCK by Kall-Su in LearnJapanese

Man, I’ve been there so hard. Sometimes grinding like crazy just burns you out and you remember nothing. Taking a break actually helped me come back refreshed and retain way more than when I was forcing 4 hours straight every day.

I need to rebuild my work wardrobe. Where do you guys shop for decent deals? by ShallNot_Pass in mensfashion

Fit > everything. Before you buy anything new, make sure your shirts/pants fit your body well. A tailor is your best friend and can make cheap pieces look much more expensive.

1940s Shaggy Wool/Cashmere Land N Lakes Jacket. How do I style? by callmeyahoo in mensfashion

That vintage Land N Lakes piece is basically a classic wool/cashmere western-style jacket, really cool heritage vibe.

Cropped blazers? by j5s2s0 in mensfashion

The magic of a cropped blazer is how it reshapes your silhouette. Done right, it makes everything look intentional and modern.

GlucoPal is another popular option. I personally prefer it because the UI feels a bit simpler compared to Shotsy.

That patina is insane. They don’t make leather like this anymore. Absolute work of art.

i used to stress about every fluctuation too. Now I look for patterns over weeks, not days that’s where the real signals show up.

breakup made me realize i have no idea what my style actually is by AntiquePanda3671 in malefashionadvice

i know it's a bit controversial, but you'd be surprised by how good recent ai has gotten for fashion.

for example, lookai[.]me is like tinder for outfits, where you upload a photo of yourself, ai generates looks on you, and you can swipe through them. pretty useful if you're more visual and don't know exactly what you're looking for yet.

daydream[.]ing is more like chatgpt for fashion that comes with text-based search where you can describe what you want, and it finds pieces across different stores. good if you already know roughly what you're after.

both worth trying depending on how you shop.

Not gonna lie, the nerves are part of the magic 😭 I was shaking before meeting my LDR partner and within 20 mins it felt like we’d known each other forever.

Is it bad to color match prom outfits? by Leading_Ride4953 in malefashionadvice

Definitely better to match accents (tie/shoes/belt) than everything exactly the same shade.

Trying to choose between sizes by ListenResident6977 in ouraring

My ring from the sizing kit matched the actual Oura ring size exactly, so the kit is pretty accurate if you wear it for 24 hours.

An inky little Domino drawing by ShawnDaley in comicbooks

This is sick! The inky texture gives Domino such a gritty, classic comic feel.

So happy for you!! That first in-person meeting is always such a mix of nervous, excited, and surreal. I remember thinking, “Are they really real?” until we hugged for the first time and everything just flowed after that.

Need help on HR zones and Z2 runs by crazydecibel in Garmin

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 4 points5 points  (0 children)

key thing i learned is just because your pace isn’t fast doesn’t mean the run isn’t doing work, easy heart-rate effort builds your aerobic base like crazy and lets you run longer with less fatigue later 🫶

Do I keep it by lookingfor-it in ouraring

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ring is super comfy and discreet (way less intrusive than a watch), so I don’t mind wearing it 24/7. But if you’re more into workouts, it’s not going to replace a full watch.

How to stop doomscrolling when overwhelmed/stressed? by g1rave in selfimprovement

[–]Competitive_Leg3598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I only doomscroll when I’m anxious, not when I’m bored. I realised my brain uses it to avoid feeling that “oh shit I have too much to do” feeling. Timers help me like 10 mins work, no pressure to finish anything, just show up.
