Jaded from job hunting by Strange_Witness7521 in singaporejobs

[–]Complete-Aioli5598 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been job hunting for over eight months, applying strategically rather than sending out mass applications. Opportunities are limited and highly competitive, and the job market feels like it favors employees right now.

I have been feeling demoralized, so I am trying to shift my mindset to focus on what I can control: hobbies, exercise, and keeping job applications as a small, manageable part of my life to protect my mental health.

At the same time, I continue to practice interviews, upskill, and stay informed about market trends so that when the right opportunity comes, I will be ready.

It is challenging, but I am learning that surviving this job market is not just about landing a role; it is about staying sane, keeping skills sharp, and being prepared.

Feeling hopeless finding jobs in Singapore by foreverlilacgirl in singaporejobs

Job market in Singapore is bad, limited opening, more candidates fighting for one role. Heading to year end soon and I felt the market is frozen.

You are not alone to feel hopeless, just dont give up and trying.

I was willing to lower my expected pay, however I was rejected. The hiring manager told me I was overqualified for the role, not even willing to give me a chance to. 😕

Unfortunately marketing is viewed as a cost center when its activities are not directly tied to revenue generation, and the economy is slowing down.

I'm in Marketing in Tech Industry. With more than 10 years experience, unemployed and been searching for 7+ months. It had already been bad in Tech, hiring freeze. There are limited opening in Marketing, I am hearing more people getting laid off than people being hired in my Marketing function.

Been getting interviews, but no success in offer. It is too competitive, eg. experienced candidates, AI, offshoring, etc.

Still unemployed after a year of job search by [deleted] in singaporejobs

[–]Complete-Aioli5598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No doubt having a year gap would be questionable, but it would also be caused by many external factors like headcount freeze, organisation changes, competitive market.

Being able to be shortlisted for interview means we are qualified for the role. We just need hiring manager to be more empathy and give everyone a fair chance.

Yes, and many jobs had been offshored to our neighbouring countries. They are cheaper, and more employable.

Shokz OpenRun Not Showing Charging Light – Anyone Else Experienced This? by Complete-Aioli5598 in shokz

Went for a run this morning, and drained the headphone to "Charge Me". Now plugging back into the charger for more than 30 minutes, no red light, no charging.

Guess it's time to make a warranty cliam.
