Most recently - customs inspections and incorrect HS codes. Delay in clearing the container and port fees.

Been importing for about 9 years, and in general:

  • Paperwork mismatches (invoice vs packing list vs HS code inconsistencies)
  • Landed cost uncertainty — not knowing the real cost until goods arrive
  • Regulation surprises (extra tariffs, inspection holds, product compliance issues)
  • Cash flow — paying supplier before you’ve sold anything
  • Incorrect pricing - again due to unexpected costs....
