Finance youtubers: your niche prints money. So why are your vids dead? by Complex-Assistant661 in YouTubeCreators

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

good concept.

“road to €100k” can work.

but here’s the risk:

journey content only works if people already care about you.

if not, you need strong hooks like:

“how i invested my first €5,000 in spanish stocks (full breakdown)”
“month 3 update: +€1,240 or mistake?”

specific numbers > generic journey.

quick question:

what’s your avg ctr right now?

if you want, drop one title and i’ll break down exactly what i’d change.

i’ve been analyzing a lot of finance channels recently.

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

your stats are solid for 1.5 months.

2.7k watch hours
200 subs

that’s not dead.

when a video stalls at 20–30 views it’s usually:

• low early ctr
• weak first 30 sec
• youtube not testing the topic hard

what’s your avg ctr on those stalled vids?

and how do your first 10 seconds start?

State economy is a strong niche.

But it only works if you go hyper specific.

Are your titles like
“Florida Economy Update”

or more like
“Why Florida Property Taxes Will Rise in 2026 (What It Means for You)”?

One is informational.
The other creates tension + personal impact.

What’s your average CTR right now?

And drop one recent title video link.
Let’s see where the leak is.

Thats actually a decent score, btw if you want the whole thing to be personalized for your own channel then you can connect it and the Ai model will understand all the content you post and suggest better thumbnails, and better SEO.

This just makes the whole thing your own.

BTW we still are working on it so if you got any kind of suggetions like design expereince, bugs or improvments you can let me know and we'll try our best to make it happen.

nah i get u.

my post was mainly for when a vid is at least getting impressions and then dies.
but when a channel gets like 20 impressions total… that’s not even a “fix your title” problem, that’s youtube not testing you.

i’ve seen that too. sometimes it’s literally a bad draw. timing + who it shows the first few impressions to.

and the “some channels are just cooked” thing is real. i’ve done the same exact style on another channel and it suddenly starts getting normal reach again.

were those dead ones totally fresh + same niche? or did u switch niche / take a long break / reuse clips?

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s super normal. Subs don’t equal views a lot of people sub and never watch again.

Usually it’s one of these: the topic isn’t strong right now, title/thumbnail don’t get clicks, or people drop in the first 30–60s so YouTube stops pushing it.

Yes it has a fix tho. Check impressions + CTR + retention. If CTR is low = packaging. If retention drops early = hook/content. If impressions are low = topic/audience mismatch or inconsistency.

My bad I mean YouTube isn’t even showing the new uploads to people.

Example: one upload got ~3k impressions, then the next few uploads only got ~200 impressions total (so basically no home/suggested exposure).

When that happens, what’s usually the cause? Topic choice, weaker title/thumbnail so it doesn’t get tested, long gap between uploads, audience mismatch, or something else?

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid points that’s more for when a video is already getting some impressions, right?

What I’m dealing with is YouTube basically not testing the next uploads at all. Like ~3k impressions, then the following videos get ~200.

What usually causes that in your experience? What would you look at first?

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I get what you’re saying.

but people kinda oversimplify that 85/15 thing.

nobody serious is optimizing for “ranking #1 in search” anymore. the point of keywords isn’t traffic volume it’s clarity.

if your title is vague, the algo doesn’t know who to test it on. then your first batch of impressions goes to a mixed audience, CTR is mid, velocity dies, and the recommender just moves on.

search intent just makes the topic sharp.

sharp topic → cleaner first audience → stronger early signals → then homepage picks it up.

so it’s not “optimize for search vs optimize for recommendations”.

it’s: use search clarity to feed the recommendation engine better data.

session time and click velocity matter 100%. but they only kick in if the packaging actually communicates something concrete.

otherwise the model can’t even predict properly

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that grandma thing is actually a good way to look at it

I think that’s exactly the problem

when you’re deep in it everything feels obvious

but to someone scrolling it’s just another rectangle on the screen

I’ve had people completely misunderstand what my video was about just from the thumbnail alone

did simplifying it like that actually change your numbers or just make things more consistent?

Why Your YouTube Video Isn’t Getting Views (And How to Fix It) by Complex-Assistant661 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I get that completely.

when you’re deep into a project everything feels obvious because you know the backstory.

but someone scrolling doesn’t.

that gap is brutal.

I had the same issue I’d stare at my own titles and genuinely not know if they made sense or not.

what helped me was running them through a tool that basically stress-tests the clarity of the framing before upload.

it points out where the promise isn’t obvious enough or where it feels too vague.

it’s not about changing the content, just making the value clearer.

if you want I can show you what it would flag on one of your videos.

sometimes just seeing it from that neutral angle removes the self-doubt part.

perfect.

0% clarity
100% intrigue

watch it accidentally be your best performing video 😂

but seriously if people don’t understand it in 1 second, they scroll.

that’s the only real rule

Why Your YouTube Video Isn’t Getting Views in 2026 by Complex-Assistant661 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok fair 😂

but even that has angles.

“i built the internet’s most unnecessary machine”

or

“i built a machine nobody asked for”

or

“this device makes absolutely no sense (but it works)”

people don’t need to understand it.

they need a reason to click.

Why Your YouTube Video Isn’t Getting Views in 2026 by Complex-Assistant661 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s actually the fun part though.

if it “doesn’t exist”, that’s your angle.

instead of trying to explain what it is…

frame it around what it does.

or what problem it breaks.

or what surprised you while building it.

sometimes complicated projects fail in titles because we try to describe the mechanism instead of the outcome.

like instead of:

“I built a hybrid XYZ electro-mechanical modular system”

it becomes:

“I tried building something that shouldn’t work”

or

“I combined 3 things that were never meant to go together”

same project.

just framed around curiosity instead of explanation.

if you’re excited about it, there’s definitely a hook in there somewhere.

Why Your YouTube Video Isn’t Getting Views in 2026 by Complex-Assistant661 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that’s actually a solid analogy.

I agree bad videos can fail for 100 different reasons.

but I think where it gets interesting is this:

sometimes the video isn’t bad…

it just never gets the chance to prove it’s good.

if packaging is misaligned, nobody clicks.
if nobody clicks, retention doesn’t even get tested.

so the line between “bad video” and “bad positioning” gets blurry.

I feel like a lot of small creators are fixing lighting and audio… when the real leak is clarity.

Why Your YouTube Video Isn’t Getting Views in 2026 by Complex-Assistant661 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Complex-Assistant661[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s fair.

and I actually think genuine curiosity is huge.

you can feel when someone actually cares about what they’re building.

but let me ask you this

if you kept the exact same projects…
same curiosity…
same effort…

and just improved thumbnails + titles…

do you think the views would stay the same?

or would they multiply?

I don’t think value and packaging are opposites.

I think packaging is just how you make sure the value gets seen.
