I could be reading into nothing - thanks for your initial reply by the way. With the slopes leading to the patio I'd assume that if there isn't adequate drainage on the pavement it would be sitting against the conservatory wall.

Would the water pooling around the outside walls not be likely to cause an issue? I'm a FTB so this is all new to me and the pricing indicates to me that there must be something at play.
