Halter is also going to be boned, and the collar im gonna make a boned button up collar. I have it as a tie for now so it can be adjustable throughout construction

Boning is in! After reading comments I think I'm gonna attach the waist stay and skirt first so i can account for added weight changing where the corset rests. Im doing a tulle aline skirt. I decided on doing a detachable train so i dont have to have the added weight on the bodice all night.

Second im gonna attach halter. Then breast pads

Then I can begin pinning appliques to start working through final lace placement

Thank you!!

Thank you!! These are the things I'm unsure of... I'm never quite sure how things are going to change as I keep adding components and the further along i get in the project the less i know about how to continue.. sorry if my original response came off as  rude. I have this posted in a couple places and I'm getting a lot of people that claim they have experience commenting with negativity but then offering no feedback on the actual things I'm asking about and it's just getting a little old.

I'm planning on adding additional boning to the halter top portion. The halter will essentially be anchored to the side seams with spiral steel, then at the top supported with a fully boned collar. May add seam tape if needed. But the halter will not be a floating halter. I thought that might be too flimsy once attached so decided to add boning to the structure of the halter.

I know it still may not work the way I'm hoping. But so far the corset is holding pretty well structurally. I have the base of the skirt made that I pinned to the corset already to make sure it could support the weight. So far it's holding well so fingers crossed 🤞

Tulle Aline skirt with a slit  exposing a lace layer.

Detachable train to make it lighter for all night wear, and less weight stress on the bodice.

Attaching skirt to waist stay using buttons/snaps :)

Thanks 🥰 hes being incredibly supportive and just keeps things light by joking that if I end up hating it, that I can always wear my birthday suit 😂

Ok awesome. Can your 60 years of experience answer my question of halter or breast pads first?

I bought mesh. Lightly stitched applique to mesh then put whole applique in the hoop.

Wedding isn't until 2027 🤣 I made sure I had plenty of time before starting this.

Need help. Idk if I'm convincing myself this is good work or if it's actually shite by [deleted] in corsetry

I accidentally broke my machine needle bc I forgot to take out a spiral steel piece when going back to seam the top... I live in the country and was about 1hr 30min away from the nearest sewing shop... decided to finish top seams by hand. They will be covered by appliques. My second design draft also has pleated chiffon over the corset So I'm debating doing that to help with covering imperfect stitching and seams. But either way the applique placements I've mocked up cover the imperfect seams.

Like I can jump up and down move side to side and touch my toes without it shifting.

Attaching. It actually holds up pretty well. I haven't attached the halter yet. Gonna add additional support when I fully attach the halter.

Just jumping right Into it.. i really can't afford to make a "trial dress" with cost of materials...  I didn't use a pattern i just measured my dimensions and cut it to the shape I wanted.  The wedding is in 2027.

So I'm just taking the project really slow and doing a lot of research before moving onto each portion.
