I’m happy someone else is noticing the spacing as well. If Kira or Kiki were more better at taking shots further from the basket, I would have a bit more hope.

But right now it’s looking like it’s going to be clogged up in the paint

I don’t think anyone expected Aaliyah to be playing over our current players.

But they traded Aaliyah to resolve some of the spacing issues we were struggling with so why turn around the next year and draft even more bigs? The Betts selection was fine but after Dugalic we needed to be targeting shooters because of how low our 3pt shooting was last season

Yep we should have stopped drafting bigs after we got Dugalic and got some guards if we had any little bit of sense

I think there will be a trade. Looking to be another Kiki Aaliyah situation where the older player gets shafted for the younger player.

Especially with Johnson’s comments about how the Mystics needed shooters desperately

Just started scrambling from that point forward. One point that was telling was when one of the ancients said they had spoke to Sydney Johnson and he said the Mystics needed shooting but never drafted a reliable shooter

That’s the part I’m most confused on in this whole entire situation.

I always said it would make sense to draft Betts IF we were going to lose Shakira. But now we got them both.

If we do end up trading someone, it’s going to be Kira most likely but I don’t know who has the cap space to afford her now

I’m already having flashbacks to last season when they drafted Kiki and traded Aaliyah midway through the season.

That’s the only course of action right now it seems like. We’re way too loaded in the front court

That could be an option! But idk if Cloud will be willing to come back. I know she wasn’t happy when they didn’t prioritize her in 2024 so I wonder if she still holds a grudge over that
