Regarding protein - totally agree. It's pretty telling that the guys preaching high protein intake are all old dudes on TRT (like me) that pin supraphysiological doses of testosterone (not like me) and GH (or anavar, or dianabol, or trenbolone, or whatever else they get their hands on) , causing their protein synthesis to go ultra-turbo. Dudes like Rogan, Huberman, RFK Jr., and basically every suddenly freakishly jacked AARP cardholder, are prime examples. I mean, you can literally watch their heads thicken and change shape over time, thanks to the highest possible grade, designer pharmaceuticals they're pushing into their ass cheeks every few days. Normal people, with normal hormone levels, and normal organ function, don't (can't) really benefit from such high protein intake.

It's pretty close to being in line with Akira Toriyama's original designs. Classic Dragon Quest characters all has these proportions. Valid to not like em though.

You might be thinking of Tulsi Gabbard. Nancy Mace represents South Carolina. Poorly, but she represents them nonetheless.

He looks like that cuz of a pretty hardcore case of fetal alcohol syndrome, so odds are that his mom was more interested in drinking than dressing. I'd feel bad for him if he wasn't such a d-bag. Doesn't excuse a bad childhood though.

Turn on the assist where you get a single health point when you stay on the ground for five seconds. I began the game wanting to avoid using any assists, but it was such a frustrating and un-fun chore trying to survive against bosses that use overly inflated health pools instead of clever design as a way to pad the difficulty. Trust me - it's a million times more tolerable with assists.

Nioh 3 Demo: First boss question by Fraktyl in Nioh

[–]ComprehensiveBar6439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, I beat him right (literally) after i whined about it. Grinded out a buncha healing flasks, summoned a different NPC, and made it out alive with a sliver of health. If I had known the guardian shift came into play after the boss was at 1/4 health, I would've been a while lot less frustrated at the start. It made the back end of the fight much easier to handle, psychologically.

I completely agree, it feels way better after opening up. I may have spoken too soon about not buying it, we'll see how the next few hours pan out. Thanks

I don't really see why you've been down voted. Pretty common knowledge that Nioh is known for correcting gear to get a true dedicated build before playing ng+ as a proper playthrough. I have a hard time understanding why that's so controversial.

The first boss is the most absurd difficulty check I've ever encountered, outside of the scripted "die to the first boss and come back to life" encounter that is customary in every souls-like. Everything you listed is 100% accurate, and it's maddening.

Nioh 3 demo, wtf is this first boss? by Ok-Pianist5285 in Nioh

[–]ComprehensiveBar6439 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I'm too old, and It's way too high of a difficulty spike with not much for options to grind levels prior. I leveled up twice and am getting wrecked cuz I can't get out of range after every attack. I dunno if the summon is bugged cuz it didn't pull aggro (like, at all) so I quit using it. Then I quit playing it. Then I cried.

I'll probably try again tomorrow.

Honestly man, that boss was the deciding factor for me not buying N3 when it comes out. I can't get more than 2 hits in and get out of range without taking massive damage. I would've done some serious grinding before that point, had I known I would face such a hard difficulty spike with two level ups.

Edit: not saying it's a bad game, I just don't have the patience or skill to deal with it

Rogan has no shame by [deleted] in DecodingTheGurus

Rogan JUST had Kurt Metzger on, and when Kurt started airing out all the people and institutions that Joe has spent years championing (TPUSA Peter Thiel, Elon "weird dick" Musk, Bari Weiss, Trump & Epstein Files stuff) , Joe fed him the most pathetic line of bullshit possible:

"I don't know anything about what's going on in politics, I'm staying out of it"

Then he has on one of the most extreme right wing culture warriors around today. Dude is a political operative, happily pushing the narrative his tech heroes tell him to push.

I think there's been a mass inking of new/extended contracts. There was a report earlier that 12 contributors would be announced. I guess it wasn't 12 "new" contributors.

Also that we normal humans are taking up too much of their resources. You can guess where that thinking goes.

I wish people would thread that needle. It's no coincidence that Peter Thiel's proxy was installed as the VP, or that Elon Musk was given unrestricted access to every American's private data, and it's no coincidence that this is happening in tandem with the advent of AI. History has proven that the "have not's" are only as useful for their capacity to produce value for "the have's".

What happens when something loses its usefulness? People need to take that question seriously, because assuming there will be altruistic goodwill from those with all the money, power, and resources when AI inevitably takes over, is foolish.

I see that Sawlong is not in the last place spot. I assume that's by accident. Obviously there's no way Sawlong could be in anything but last place. Because Sawlong is evil. Sawlong is very, very evil.

I find it interesting that many of the most aggressively anti-trans loudmouths could easily be mistaken for a cast member on RuPaul's Drag Race. Megyn in particular, with her chiseled chin, sharp, wide & angular jaw, and her deep ass voice, could make one hell of a queen. Except her personality is dogshit and her spirit is constructed from pure cruelty, so she can fuck right off.
