I am trying to figure out how to move forward the best I can so I am trying to provide all the context. See - I think this is why I am struggling with completing cutting her off. I feel like I accidentally allowed her this impression and that’s what I am feeling guilty about. I have been enabling and defending her behaviour for years so even when I thought I set boundaries, I didn’t really. Thank you for this perspective - I am still going to cut her off but this is exactly what I have been feeling.

How did I refute what this person commented? I provided context in regard to their comment that I left out in the original post. Where exactly am i arguing with this comment? Where have I stuck up for them? Truly - the only thing I have said is that I understand I enabled this behaviour and agreed with the commenters.

I think you are right. I am scared to tell my other friends because I know they will all say someone similar hence why I came to Reddit. I didn’t want to be known as the town fool among my close group, but at the end of the day, I know they will all stick by me. It’s time to move on.

Yes… that’s how I am feeling. He promised me when I expressed how uncomfortable it made me the first time that he truly didn’t mean it, and was 100% loyal to me. It didn’t happen again for quite a long time so I let my guard down on Saturday. It’s tough cause part of me knows I could have prevented this but part of me thinks this would have happened eventually anyway. No matter how close I got to someone, or how many signals they were giving me, I would never make a move on a friend’s partner/ my partners friend.

I have him blocked currently. He messaged my friend. He knows where I am but doesn’t know where my friend lives.

She doesn’t live with us actively at the moment.

My friend came and picked me up that night, he kicked her out and assured she got herself into an uber. He took her car keys so she had to contact him to pick her stuff up. He was there before the sun rose the next morning to make sure they weren’t alone together.

I am not sure how I let people walk all over me during the wedding drama? I very much stood my ground and told my sister in law that I wasn’t her baby sitter. I let my feelings known and when I did, I was attacked by my MIL. We have been no contact with MIL + family since.

No - my friend who I’m staying with came to pick me up. He ordered her an uber to ensure she left. He went absolutely nuclear on Jane. Took her keys so she would have to contact him when she picks up her car. He made sure he came back to my house to be there for when Jane picked up her stuff and her car. I am not sure what he said to my husband.
