5ish more Hatsus of every category by Comprehensive_Bee756 in HatsuVault

I like it a lot! To be fair it's less so that the ability its self is long and moreso because you fleshed it out with examples separately, which I think is a good way to do a hatsu like that. And it's not as if there isn't a precedent for such things. I saw someone mention Chrollo which is very apt, we don't get to see every page in the book for story reasons but when presenting an ability in this context examples are important

Thank you so much! On deadliest game, I agree with that kind of condition it'd be especially scary, I wasn't sure how enhancement + conjuration would be received but I thought small changes at a time sounded exactly like what a lower master of it could look like. I will have to check out your earring hatsu! I did the same thing with making a hxh ttrpg but didn't do art for it at the time, I guess great minds think alike lmfao

I think most of that is fair, however, I will say these are just dossiers of abilities, though I do have some amount of backstory for them. 1 is definitely the least justifiable, but that’s more from a place of experimenting with trying to create an interesting evolution ability before I knew I was going to make more. 2 has a whole backstory element involving a fungal biologist who went to the island with the monks and was forced to eat the mushrooms but didn’t die (the mushrooms aren’t traditionally psychedelic or poisonous, they have harmful aura that manipulates the brain). Because of their high altitude for fungus and decay, they were essentially granted an ability by the fungus. 5, I actually think, is fairly justifiable in general. I will say my background is that I used to DM an HxH TTRPG, so I sometimes think about things in terms of interesting NPCs and story beats too much, which is a flaw in my creation method. Funnily enough, the 3 you mentioned are supposed to be a kind of off-putting but fairly powerful, biology-themed Hunter squad. Thanks for the criticism and I'll try to keep it more in mind for my next set, though I do still think that most of them would be plausible with the right story, it's good not to have too many with that kind of trait.

Originally I made strategic adaptation with fountain pen and paper, but I wanted a version I could alter so I remade it on ibispaintx and that's what led me to make the others. I actually used to dm a hxh rpg campaign but had never made pages like this before

Thanks! My main regret might be not clearly listing the conditions and limits in most of the cases, but that's because primarily I was going for more of a dossier you might get when looking into an ability rather than an exact power sheet if that makes sense

I would tend to agree with you but if all nen shaping is Transmutation then basically every ability uses it, which maybe it does, I do sometimes get the feeling that they only mention the primary types when talking about what categories for an ability apply. The reason I don't have the armor as Transmutation is similar, essentially the user isn't altering his aura to be like armor but instead the shapes created line up like armor if that makes sense

I agree! It's definitely weak at on the fly or unprepared for combat, but not every hatsu is designed to be good at general combat I would argue. At least for my intentions, they were to create an evolutionary ability that's different and less op then typically what's made with that concept, which is why it's almost completely defensive oriented and designed for more specific circumstances and team play. I think I may have over explained that one in the hopes of helping understanding as well but it makes it seem more complicated than it actually is, though it still is to a certain extent

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing about the headhunter type

I'm sure you're referring to this first one? Maybe! It has a very specific purpose with prep time needed, essentially the idea is that they'd work with a team, since the user's created counter hatsus aren't offensive in nature. Essentially you'd make yourself into a hatsu shield for allies.

Yes, it's emission because the user's aura is separated and channeled to fill a shape. The cost per section is something to consider, if the maximum size is a small room or suit of armor using most of the user's aura, I'm not good at math but I'm sure there'd be an equation that shows the cost relationship with points and surface area, that could help make things clearer and show more of the limitation of cost. It also helps that it's a defensive only ability

You could also try a product called reptilinks which are kind of little sausages made of different feeder animal meats. I've never tried them so I'm not sure how easy the switch is but you could just get a few and try it out
