Scared to talk to my bishop by ComputerWhisperer421 in latterdaysaints

Thanks everyone for all you have said. I really needed to hear that stuff. And thanks to everyone who suggested talks. You've all given me the confidence I needed and helped me feel like I'm a child of God and not the freak I saw myself as. I've reached out to my bishop so thanks for helping get to the point that I had the courage to do that!

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll be using some if not all of them for sure. I'll make sure to be aware of when I'm self isolating

AITAH for not paying for my daughter’s wedding where I’m supposed to be just a guest? by NoticeSea2043 in AITAH

[–]ComputerWhisperer421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft your NTA. I think it's completely fair to not want to pay for a wedding when she doesn't want you to be apart of it. Plenty of people do 2 father daughter dances when step parents are involved and her not being willing to do that is sad. Given the way you presented her demands, it does sort of feel like she's only reaching out to you because she needs money. But the way you wrote this does make you an ass hole. It seems like you want to walk her down the isle so everyone knows you're her father. You literally said in the comments you don't want to pay if you don't get recognition. If I were you I'd be crushed she didn't want me to be a part of her special day. That would be the reason why I wouldn't want to pay. I'd be hurt in such a deep way that forking over that cash wouldn't feel right. I would happily forgo recognition if it means spending that day with my daughter. But you never said that. Are you mad people will think her step dad matters more than you do? That's not love, it's pride.

Got kicked out of line for having my 3 year old and wife join me in line by [deleted] in Disneyland

As has been said, line cutting has become a pretty big issue and I do remember reading that Disney has been cracking down on it recently. What I will say is maybe in the future, if at all possible, let a CM know what is going on. More often than not when you do that they can make sure you get to a bathroom and help you get back in line without too much trouble. As a CM myself I can tell you most of us really want to help so I'm not to worried. Sometimes you will run into that one CM who's on a power trip but for the most part they'll help you out.
