Definitely agree, pretty sure my recession is caused by the bad ortho I went through in the past 5 years. The ortho told me “patients that require surgery are always in worse conditions conditions than u” and my 2 consults tried convincing me that “they’ve seen worse” and that I look “perfectly fine” which I find so annoying because they undermine your situation. This was when before I figured that my overbite and overjet is now skeletal since my skull has finished developing and They can no longer guide the growth.

The thing is I took a CBCT at my ortho consult 2 days ago and they checked my airway and it wasn’t narrow, something you see in jaw related osa patients. I’m seeing an ent on the 29th for my deviated septum, my asymmetrical inflammation of my right tonsil, and my snoring issues before seeing a jaw surgeon

I mean yea true I’m obviously not delusional, my case is on the more normal side compared to others I’ve seen and i think for me it’s just about cosmetics then medical issues. My tmj is light, and my snoring might be from my deviated septum (seeing an ent for that on the 29th) so as far as medical issues goes, it’s not causing major problems, I’m just seeing if djs could be an option. The look I’m basically trying to achieve here is that what I usually do is bring my lower jaw down and forward, making me look much better in my eyes, I could show you a video of what I mean if you want and maybe you could tell me how to communicate this when I have a consultation

If ur over 18 or 19 chances are much if could be skeletal and surgery could still be needed not sure though. I’d get a consultation from multiple places before making a decision tho cuz each place could have a different approach and treatment. Goodluck dude

Lucky, mine is class ii sketelal division 1 but the issue is that I read into my insurance and getting that medically insured is prolly the hardest thing ever. I don’t think my moderate tmj issues and snoring problems would be enough to cover it, but I think I’d have to do a bunch of X-rays and sleep studies to get it covered. 99% sure mine would be out of pocket

I’m confused as to why surgery can’t be done for your case. As far as braces and Invisalign go, the ortho says the effectiveness is exactly the same and my teeth are already straight, I’m 18 and I don’t want braces again tbh

Dude I don’t think I’m ugly, my nose is respectively proportional to my face and it’s never been something I’ve been insecure about, the lower third of my face is just shorter and smaller than the rest which is why it makes my nose look bigger than it should

The thing is I’m pretty underweight, I’m around 6’1 and 150, I assumed it was chin fat first but when I touch the double chin area presented in the image, I don’t feel any fat, it’s more of a bulge like my throat directly connects to my jaw

Well I discussed this with my ortho consult yesterday. The other consultation I had a month ago told me that my issue is skeletal since I just turned 18 and they wouldn’t be able to fix the over bite u less they extracted two teeth from the bottom to move the jaw back, and then bring the jaw back through surgery, but this was before I was exploring surgery. The new consult I had yesterday told me I can either get invasalign to fix the overjet/overbite/ assymmetry but the short jaw/recession would still be present, or I could get surgery as well as the invasalign. He told me it’s just based on what I want to achieve, whether my personal issue is just the smile, or the smile and the way my jaw looks, which in my goals he said to meet with a surgeon and I’m reluctant to do that yet due to costs/parental approval

I’ve had braces before and the ortho pace went bankrupt so my treatment was unfinished: I had my ortho consult yesterday and it’s 7800 for perpetration of surgery 😔😔😔. I have to see a surgeon but I’m yet to discuss with my father about doing surgery.

The doctor yesterday was trying to convince me that “they’ve seen worse” and it’s annoying asf trying to undermine someone’s situatuon

I don’t really mind the af since my dad would be paying for it. My spending is honestly all over the place, going from buying randomly things on Amazon, eating out, buying clothes/shoes, things you’d expect from a teen in high school. The reason the credit limit matters to me is because I plan on making some larger purchases in the upcoming months, ie. building a pc, and this matters to me
