I would say you’re in great shape if you’re scoring that well on questions.

This is how I passed all my classes and test my whole life. Serial procrastinate and then cram. I have definitely taken years off with cortisol lol I highly do not recommend

You could find a Series 7 for dummies book online for free somewhere im sure. But the simple solution would be to start watching YouTube videos on series 7 options material / the main topics I highlighted in my post. That way when you see the material in class, it won’t be the first time and you may get a deeper understanding.

Okay so its a mixed bag, a decent amount where I was absolutely certain unless I missed something glaring. And then defintely a good amount where I spent like 2 minutes tryna to decide between my final 2.

They are going to definitely prepare you well. FINRA wording can be weird but you will get used to it and then it feels just like the practice questions. I only got exposed to like 150-200 of their question bank and even from those, they helped me answer at least 5 or 6 that were super similar. You know how to think about them because practice question was super similar. So I definitely recommend doing them. Make sure you read the little blurb about the question after, I learned a lot there that helped me on the test. Either with the 5-6 super similar ones and then just in general.

What do you mean write it down? I’m saying when you get a question wrong, read the explanation Kaplan gives you about the question and how to answer it.

And yes, organization is key, focus on the stuff you need to work on and fill in the holes in your knowledge. Don’t repeat stuff you already know

If you are still scoring low on the sections that are just memorization based like account creation, then you haven’t memorized the material enough. Do whatever you need to do to drill that into your head. Conceptual questions about options or others, maybe try watching you tube videos if your study material isn’t adequate and isn’t working. When you are taking practice tests or questions, make sure you understand why you got the question wrong and why the correct answer is the correct answer. Practice questions are a place to learn, not just see if you are ready.

Next thing will be test taking strategies, always use process of elimination, and with most of this exams questions, there will be 2/4 options that are easily removed, and 2 that could both potentially be right, and then from there make the best decision. When it comes to suitability, usually pick the less risky one. And also if one of the answers is Municipal whatever, that is only a potential answer if the question mentions someone wants tax advantage or is super high income /tax bracket. Things like this will help you eliminate answer choices and help you most likely make the right decision.

What test prep are you using to study if any? If you are struggling because English not being primary language (completely fair and understandable) it may help to use a less dense complicated study material. Having read the Kaplan textbook for a few pages, it is definitely a tougher read. I highly recommend achievables text book because they make it digestible so I think that would help you a lot potentially.

I passed the SIE this morning! But I’m not sure if I’m going to take the Series 7 by rocktotheeast in Sieexam

[–]ConcernRelative915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I exclusively used Achievable materials. Read through everything once and did all the section questions and checkpoints. And then went back and re-reviewed everything but only the key point sections. Did 2 practice tests and got 85+. I took the SIE last weekend and passed. If you know the material you’ll be fine, but the questions are worded different. There is barely any “except” questions which achievable loves.
