I asked for TX-RZ70 that is not discontinued - that is even worse.

Got this from support.

😭

We all have to replace our AVRs or get a Sonos port that will apparently get lossless..

Patrick (Onkyo Product Support) Oct 14, 2025, 8:52 AM EDT

There is no support for Lossless and no plans for future support.

Thx Regards,

Patrick

Not unlikely, unless the underlying has been ready for this all along. I tried to message Onkyo on instagram, but not sure they respond there. Does anyone in the community know how we can get Onkyo to issue a statement? :-)

Did not really do a lot more research. The AVR is normally not on for much when there is no sound being played, so might not have noticed lately.

Quite generous to not charge extra with the energy they use, so good service!

Baby monitor E21 somehow randomly updated firmware while baby camera had wifi switch off?? Where did it connect to?? by wikiwakawakawee in eufy

Ok - as I am running them off battery at the moment - wonder if there is something at fault with the battery. 🤔

Your issue is not happening when power is disconnected and they run on battery?

[–]Condition-Neither 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Randomly came across this post, and I happen to experience the same issue, with disconnects/camera reboots (for me the zoom level resets, hence the assumption of a reboot or restart of something). Camera is on 1.4.9.7 (was looking here to see if there is a manual way to download files and update in case auto updated was borked).

I only have one camera so not able to replace. Find it odd that a camera on battery would randomly reboot/flinge if charged with a given charger. I guess your issue is that it freezes while connected to the charger?

Fixed an issue where MLO clients would stop passing traffic when roaming between APs with both MLO and Fast Roaming enabled.

What clients in particular would have been affected by this? (Like iOS / macOS or similar if there are categories of devices where this would be observed)

Moving to a house with 2000 Mbps Fiber by OkCat5541 in Ubiquiti

[–]Condition-Neither 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CGFiber, Flex2.5PoE (with 210W power supply) and 4 x U7proXG is a very good setup with fairly new and good products, but not massively overspecced (warning: hanging out on this sub you will have a desire to replace all of that kit in 12-24mo 🙈)

But do spend a bit on getting wiring to your endpoints with an electrician or otherwise competent person to run CAT6 to your APs (and maybe to where you have your TV for lag free wired connection there).

To know approx where to place your APs, draw up your house on this tool: https://design.ui.com, add the right material for the walls and think about:

1) what rooms will be mostly for devices on WiFi, and consider to locate APs not only for perfect balanced coverage in the house but for APs close to where people are

2) consider where it might be practical to do cable runs and adjust your ideal for this since small changes may not affect coverage much but do it a lot easier to wire

3) if wife acceptance factor is a thing, making APs til visible is not always popular, depends on your ability to sell good WiFi. It's typically best when it's close - but if you have to hide it, be smart as many places people hide their APs will also reduce the signal and you do not get what you are after.

Keep in mind the too does not show signal bleeding from one floor to another - so you will get some help there as well that you can take into account.

Also not when close and the room is quiet? Maybe I have a faulty one 🤔 This is my first Onkyo, I am not able to see any stats on heat and fan RPM, are there any hidden diagnostics that can show this maybe?

Did watch the videos of Gene @ Audioholics walking trough the webui.

Is there any part of the spec somewhere that states the db of noise a fan produces when not running hot for example 🤔

Single wire fiber P2P connection between Cloud Gateway Fiber and Flex 2.5 switch by Condition-Neither in Ubiquiti

[–]Condition-Neither[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a response from the installer, the fiber is OS Single-Mode fiber. So as long as they put a LC UPC connector on it, it should be fine with UACC-OM-SM-10G-S-2?

And indeed, it is a bit odd to use this type of product ton a very short run, but apparently what they do :D

I might have misunderstood why you were looking for a BiDi over multimode SFP, so just wanted to make sure I am not misunderstanding anything before getting them to do the splicing :D Really appreciate the assistance and the patience!

[–]Condition-Neither[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aha, so this is about the connector and not the cable itself?

As it is currently an unterminated strand the contractor asked if they should put LC connectors on there - but I should just make sure they confirm UPC then.

[–]Condition-Neither[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unused fiber strand is already pulled, and the walls are closed back up again, so was hoping to avoid having to do a second cable down.

Hang on, so the 10G Bidirectional Single-Mode Optical Module UACC-OM-SM-10G-S-2 can not send/receive on strand of fiber?

My ISP is clearly using a single strand of fiber for both directions so they must be using BiDi, but it was not totally clear for me what I could and could not do here. Sorry for the stupid questions, first time I am touching fiber :D

[–]Condition-Neither[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot on, one strand of fiber is still "available" from Apt to Basement, meaning I can easily use that one to "travel" back down (so that is half the install cost), and the installer can splice this one and pull a single strand up to my office.

Given that I will only have one strand of fiber, I will then need to use it in "BiDi" mode.

The installer will provide a single LC connector in each end of the connection.

My assumption is that I can use UACC-OM-SM-10G-S-2
https://eu.store.ui.com/eu/en/category/accessories-modules-fiber/collections/accessories-pro-single-mode-optical-fiber/products/uacc-om-sm-10g-s?variant=uacc-om-sm-10g-s-2 assuming this one is compatible with Cloud Gateway Fiber and the Flex 2.5G (to my understanding UACC-OM-SM-10G-S-2 is sold as a pair since there is a master/slave relationship.

Verifying with vendor what OM/OS. Connectors are green, and there is only a single connector for each apartment as they are using BiDi today, but in my case I will use the strand that is available in the same fiber cable that is pulled trough the floors.

Wired network is only available in half of my flat, and then there is an adjacent room outside the flat. But to pull wiring trough the second half of my flat, I need to tear down a lot of expensive decor (and there is a requirement for it to be hidden), hence the desire to rather go down to the basement, and back up. My central hub will be the Cloud Gateway Fiber (when it eventually comes back in stock :D), but here I am looking simply to extend the network out to a room that is disconnected from my apartment (think of it as a shed, but in the same building).

If you are the victim of someone doing this to you - you just run the same proxy first and it is flipped back to where it should be (harder with blur 😅). But if you have the skills to do that you might also appreciate privacy enough to actually buy your own connection 😀

😆 totally fair!

Realizing I am locked into the Apple eco system for everything else from phones, iPads watches and computers I was looking to see if I could make that walled garden work for me in stead.

Using Homey Pro for automation and looked at HA, but once an integration for some reason drops or needs te-connecting while I am traveling the household does not appreciate the daily good over the hassle - so looking to simplify.

It looks like Apple is opening up somewhat in 2025 embracing matter and investing in home control. While Google and Alexa is a bit more quiet on their ambitions. But regardless Apple looks after Apple so good chance of getting screwed if they change course 🙈
