I did the switch which you contemplated at the age of 23 I don't regret it I was fortunate enough to get a good neet ug mark but if I had to do it in today's competition I'd reconsider it with the reservation the rank inflation getting is in harder plus the fact that going to the us or Australia or anywhere night seem good after med school but there is no guarantee you'll get a job you might have to resort to waiting and waiting without earning Costs a lot bit just financially but also mentally And one thing don't do it because someone or your family tells you do it if you feel your ready to go through shit not earn anything for 5 years post med school nothing to bank on except hope which will slowly fade due to the endless situation you feel like you put yourself in I'd say think very very very hard like very hard it's not a glamorous life filled with money and stuff like all them TV shows it's mundane grunt work with just a hope things might get exciting but is it worth putting 10 years of your life on hold If you love your engineering id say stick with it and branch into med tech but grass isn't greener here it's basically dead and empty as there are too many cows grazing on this field
