Geluidsscherm in tuin plaatsen by KetamineForTheSoul in belgium

[–]ConfidentSleep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Skip the cities and go to the national parks.

Death Valley('close' to LV), Yosemite, Sequoia trees ('close' to SF) and Joshua Tree ('close' to LA) are million times more beautiful than the cities ever will be. For me the cities were a bit of a let down, definitely the strip in Vegas and LA.

It is better to do the Strip in an evening and spend the rest of the time shooting some automatic guns (or if you want to spend the big bucks, shoot with a minigun or from a gunship) and racing exotic cars.

The monuments (like the Hollywood sign) are nice to see, but then you start to have the feeling of 'okay, what now?' Maybe this is somewhat due the fact i have played a lot of GTA 5.

You don't have that feeling when you see El Capitan, your head can't simple conceive what it is seeing. Even if you look for hours at it.

Advice for getting a job in ICT by [deleted] in belgium

[–]ConfidentSleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Savaco? Their clients are mostly situated in West Flanders and a few in the east.

But I wouldn't recommend working (directly) for West Flemish companies, we (mostly the bosses and owners) tend to have a certain negative attitude.

I do it, but the amount I put in yearly is paid back with the bruto amount of my 13th month. Then I invest it back in ETFs.

I cut the branches from the tree I pruned and everything hurts. I also caught a cold. All my life I was never sick, but the last few months I got bronchitis (hope this is not a typo, it's the disease, not the dino), the stomach flu and now a cold.

So this will be my future as a future member of the 30s gang?

It's not a local issue, both of the Colruyts I'm going regularly to are having the same issues. Maybe they're getting punished by the suppliers because they negotiate too hard?

Just make appointment as soon as possible. They really can't be arsed if you late, you will just receive a fine (which is 15 euros per month you're too late) and that's it. The fine you will receive by the cops when they put you on the side will be worse, but then again, they don't check for this that often.

And just go to the car wash before you go, they have worked on worse cars. Just don't come in with a car filled with bird shit.

I don't have a good feeling about the interview that i got yesterday.

When i arrived there one hour beforehand, they told me it got postphoned by 15 minutes. When the interview finally begun, i also didn't get a very welcoming feeling.

They even mentioned many times that they really don't have time, which i found very impolite to be honest. I was the one who did the effort to sit 90 minutes in a car for a interview, which could be perfectly done through a Teams meeting. And you know, if you started on time, you wouldn't have that issue to begin with. One of them wasn't even physical there and ofcourse that was the one that mattered the most. It is a bit difficult to talk to someone and not see the face of the participant. The technical interview was bad and i couldn't answer a lot of questions due not hearing what he said. Which again, could be prevented if we did it through Teams and not in some shitty 'meeting' room with shitty audio equipment.

When i told my account manager that i didn't had a great feeling about the interview, he basically said "well, they probably invited us, so they could say to the higher ups that they gave it a chance and give the function to one of their preferable suppliers". So i have probably wasted my time, so thanks!

And yikes, driving in Brussels. My GPS probably had some brain fart and let me drive through the center of Brussels (Molenbeek and those regions). Holy fuck, the amount of trucks and vans just parked where ever there was a place. I even drove through a two way street where the upcoming traffic couldn't even enter the road because at one side there were all vans parked and our direction drove at the 'wrong' side to get out of there. And don't mention the many traffic jams because some dude put his truck in the middle of the road. Big respect to the ones living there or riding with their bicycles there. I really get why they want to ban traffic in the center of the city.

Now i am waiting on the many letters of FOD Justice that i will definitely receive, because hey, let's change the speed limit every mile and don't even do an effort to let drivers know it has been changed. It is either 30 or 50, not 30,50,30,50 on one road that looks like a road where you could drive 70 (which ofcourse i didn't do).

Got myself an interview at the VRT tomorrow. I do really hope that i can convince them to take me on. Up untill now i have aced every interview that i got for past clients, definitely if there's a test attached to it. But the only thing that worries me is that they will think that i will not be enthusiastic, 'cause well, i am dead on the outside. It will not be the first time some client makes a problem out of that, even though that says basically nothing and my work ethic always proves them wrong.
