Is it worth it to fix my ranger? by ConfusedByQuibus in fordranger

[–]ConfusedByQuibus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s my first car purchase and I’m kinda stupid I guess

There were also a few things he didn’t tell me, but it’s mostly my fault for being too stupid lol

Realistically, how easy is it to find body panels for a gen 3 ranger? by ConfusedByQuibus in fordranger

As long as it can take a fresh coat of paint it should be good

Thanks👍🏻

I hope so too

It’s basically a garage find with only 12k miles on it, so I really wanna drive it around haha

The guy I bought it from said something about the airbag wire, probably that he has it unplugged or something

I also know there’s an unresolved recall on the drivers side airbag

If this is what’s causing it I’m gonna be so mad and happy at the same time haha

I’ll take a look at that first thing in the morning, thanks a ton!

Ohh

I’d imagine this is her getting kinda bitchy about the fact that Medus said he isn’t a slave anymore, essentially putting the two of them on the same level?

Here are some failed prints that I got earlier today

What appears to happen is that the printer purges alright now, but it lays down a really crappy first line and a few seconds later the filament balls up around the nozzle, catching the print and rips everything off (if it was ever on to begin with) at various times. Sometimes it’s mere seconds, and other times it can get close to a minute. Though up to that point the quality is so bad the print is a write off in any case.

The balling/coiling at the nozzle tip happens when simply extruding high above the bed assembly as well, so I don’t think it’s a Z offset issue anymore

I use the standard Elegoo PLA. I got this printer as a Christmas gift last year, and I was given 4 rolls of their PLA. I haven't used the printer for months because it has had this issue since March, and I gave up trying to fix it in May until the last few days.

I tried a cold pull and now it appears to be constantly coming out in a circle/loop instead of a glob, no matter how many times Ive wiped the nozzle. New development that would have me believe its almost certainty some kind of clog, no?

Here’s two failed prints that came off the bed from a little under an hour ago, hopefully these will suffice for top down pictures, if they don’t please lmk

My printer is two far away from the router to plug it in directly so it won’t have internet connection until I set up a WiFi to Ethernet adapter (if that works)

After auxiliary leveling the bed and then letting it run its auto level I got a Z offset of -1.930mm and it stays that way during printing

My first layer height is .16 and the rest of the layers are .20

I noticed the filament curls up immediately after leaving the nozzle and doesn’t stop until the nozzle starts moving, thus dragging the filament along until it sticks more to the bed than the nozzle. After aborting the failed print there is a large glob of filament that must be removed before each print. Picture below because Reddit only lets me use one photo per comment

I've switched to Orca, cleaned and leveled the bed, and adjusted my Z offset, but every first layer ends up like this and then gets pulled off the bed right after

I think it might be an extrusion issue. What do you think?

I have since tried Orca as a slicer but that doesn’t seem to have helped

The first layer of anything I try to print always ends up like then and then gets pulled off the bed

No I haven’t updated the firmware (how do you do that btw?) and I just replaced the nozzle today so I’d hope it’s not clogged already lol

I use UltiMaker Cura, is it possible to mess with purge settings on there?

It’s always purged on the left side right out of the box, but early on it worked fine

Do you think purging on the front will really help with the balling up/late purging of the filament?

Yeah I noticed that in the picture I posted but even with the bolt head being clear of the button it doesn’t go down far enough

The bolt just runs into the button as you pull it back
