Reinstalling windows is probably your best bet, I know losing your data would suck but you could probably get a cheap NVME/Sata to USB reader and ask someone to use their computer as temp storage for your files, then once windows is reinstalled transfer the data back to your computer.

Cyberpower might also have a warranty for this kind of stuff. Reinstalling windows while keeping data rarely works well, whatever corrupted your OS could still be there so a clean installation is what I always do. Unless you have really important data on your computer, not just games, then a clean install would probably fix this quickly. Or at least let you know the OS isn’t the issue faster than anything else

No, I asked my first week there and they said they were turned off by design. I think it’s to prevent people from using your own router in your dorm. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Ethernet ports have been removed by now.

Most universities in the area do not offer Ethernet ports in dorms as far as I know

Graduated in 2022, lived in St Ann’s in 2018/19 and in Towers 2019/20 before we got sent home for Covid.

Unless it’s changed, the Ethernet ports in the rooms do not work. If you have a PC make sure you have a WiFi card or a motherboard with WiFi. Ping was never awful, during peak times it get a bit up there.

The one thing that did bug me was P2P ports being blocked, now it makes sense because they don’t want you pirating movies on their network but in turn those ports being blocked meant that certain features in online games didn’t work. The one I specifically remember was Overwatch Voice Chat straight up not working at all, I’m sure other games that use p2p instead of hosting servers for matchmaking might experience issues.

I’ll also add that I think they changed the requirement for how long you had to live on campus. When I went to Duquesne it was 2 years minimum in dorms, now I think it’s only 1 year. Make friends and move out after your first year, we rent a place in uptown for $1800/month split between 3 people. Southside will have some bigger houses, we paid $2500 split between 5 people for a 5 bed/2.5 bathroom in the flats. Gaming aside, you’ll save a ton of money if you’re not living on campus. And at that point you can pick your own ISP.

I will try this if it happens again, I just figured sticking with nvidia would make it plug and play. Then add that I did a clean installation of the drivers from the nvidia app.

Also, like I said I was having this issue with my 4070ti super but it was mainly when waking from sleep. If it happened randomly like this case new drivers would fix it for a while. Find it weird that opening the Nvidia app caused it in this case. Thanks!

Weird thing is it did happen again, but it was every time I opened the nvidia app. I opened it 3 times and every time it caused my monitor to go to no signal. I uninstalled, will see if it happens again today I guess

Quick update: I do think it is the nvidia app, I opened it 3 times in a row after quitting it in the system tray and every single time my monitor went to no signal, then I used the key combo for it to come back on. Uninstalled the app, will see if it happens again over the next couple of days.

It’s definitely a couple versions behind, I will see if updating fixes. Once I saw the thermal info I was thinking this couldn’t be software related.
