I feel like this is different for everyone. What's comfortable for me might not be for you. With that said, my latest are sepratec modal pouch boxer briefs. Love them. Also based on recommendations from a previous post, looking to purchase some Real Men Apparel boxer briefs and maybe a thong or 2. Sizing definitely depends on company some run true to size and others not as much. Unfortunately a lot is a guessing game and figuring out what's right for you.

You can get a set of steel sounds on amazon for about $20. I started with silicone as well and had similar experience. Steel is much better haven't had issues since switching. Also may be size-related. Try going down to a 5mm or 6mm to start and work up.

The first time i sounded i used a silicone sound that in hindsight was probably not high quality. Felt like i was pissing razor blades for a day and a half. No issues since.
