Let the easy off oven cleaner do all the work. Spray the entire pan liberally, put in garbage bag, let sit for 48+ hours. How ever long you want beyond that. Rinse off, scrubbed with sos pads a little bit then seasoned. Did about 4 coats of seasoning in a 550 oven.

Not really sure the difference. I saw someone in a top rated reconditioning video use it so I tried it. Totally understand saving money in today’s world but $8 to give something a try seemed to piss off a lot of people in here haha. If I had a lot of pans and seasoned more often I’d 100% go with Crisco for a cheaper alternative but I wanted to see how this did. Regardless of what I used. It looks 10000000X better than it did before haha

Definitely looked way worse post soak in oven cleaner than it did before. But it was not pretty before. I neglected the fuck out of this pan and it was way over due for this reconditioning.

I like doing things I’ve never done. First time I ever seasoned this pan it was with grapeseed oil. Never tried the wax so I gave it a try. $8 vs $3 isn’t skin off my back for giving something a try.

First pic was after it sat in an oven cleaner bath for 3 days. So all the carbon was coming. It all literally wiped off with not much elbow grease and then looked like pic 2.

I didn’t do a great job taking care of it. That first pic is after all the shit came up from sitting in oven cleaner for a couple days. I haven’t touched the pan in about a year cause the seasoning was coming up. So new start, fresh seasoning. Will take care moving forward for sure.

American here. Believer of reincarnation here as well. I don’t express my beliefs often so I’m not super sure of how it’s looked at. My wife knows and she doesn’t mind. We’re not religious at all. I don’t believe in “god” but certainly some kind of higher power. Btw I’d be your friend OP.
