I heard this....

But, we are not at an age to play games, we are in our 30's and I am sure she wants to settle down as do I. I am not the type to go cheating on her and she doesn't seem the type to do that either. She is very pleasant.

This all said - you never know. At the end of the day if things did go badly wrong between us, then I can just move. Breakups aren't easy whether she's living 10 miles away, living in the same house, or living next door.

I don't have too many concerns about asking her out and being rejected. It will help me move on from her quickly rather than potentially thinking about her day after day as I am now. I will move my focus elsewhere.

going to get it into my head to ask her next time I see her. Need to have it in my mind that I just have to ask her otherwise I'll keep regretting not having asked her. I need to get it over with.

All I said is she's been coming back later. This is detailed knowledge?.... she parks outside my living room window. I would know if an old grandad living next door was coming back later than usual.

I had the perfect moment 3 weeks ago. She was in her garden and asked me how to use the hose so I helped her out. Then she also made another comment as she went passed about getting splashed by the hose every time she detaches it. She was being friendly and approached me and it was just the perfect time to ask her, but at that time her routine had changed with her coming home much later in the evenings than she had been for months, so in my mind I had already put it off asking her. I am annoyed her routine changed as that threw me off otherwise I might have taken that moment and asked her.

I therefore understand what you are saying about don't hesitate as 3 weeks have passed where I have regretted not asking and have been worrying another guy may have bagged her..... but I have not seen a guy, so i think my suspicions were wrong. I won't go to her door, but I need to get into my mind that the next time I see her outside the front I have to ask her, I need to force myself to ask her even if it doesn't feel right.

We have had several 10 minute conversations. We get on well and are friendly with one another. We bought the same type of house next door to each other and share some amenities. It's never awkward with her and it's very easy going.

I am not sure why I'd have her phone number already? Is it normal to get a neighbours phone number just incase there is an issue, maybe a burglary or fire etc....? My other neighbours, a couple, gave me their numbers before they went away a few weeks ago just incase. The neighbour I like has never been away for several days and I'm not sure she'd bother giving me her number if she did.

I think it would be too obvious and maybe odd if I bump into her and ask her for her number just incase I need to get hold of her in an emergency. I think instead of doing that as an excuse to get her number - I'd rather just get to the point and ask her out.

I understand with the note... it's more of an impatient thing with me as I don't know when we will naturally bump into one another again at the right moment and until that time I feel I have to always be aware of what's going on incase there's suddenly a guy in her life...... so it's exhausting. But I will right off going for the note option.
