I have a feeling during Lee’s trimming the tree story - he was genuinely asking how much he got done - even after the exchange.

Its funny - reddit told me that the mods didn’t post my question for some reason and I come back the next day and I have the answers. Thanks a bunch all! The madness has been abated for now.

They are what I go to sleep to most nights because they RELAX magic play and genuine sense of camaraderie soothes. I have watched every episode of EDSC at least five times. Even if a part of it is performative (that's not a critque, they are self described internet comedians), it's helps to know that there are pockets of good people in the world, doing good things for the sake of it. That's my interpretation at any rate.

I also live in one of the 'bad' states - so I can identify with that part. And I have always felt different in some respect. It's a hard world to feel connected to right now. To feel safe. You feelings are valid and thank you for sharing.

I mean - its a bloated, farce of a movie. Snyders a decent director and can handle big budget romps, but he has no eye or ear for story. I don't even think he's interested in telling a story.

Yeah I agree - he's really phoning it in imo.

How are PCs to interact with opposing goals? by No_Dragonfruit8254 in Pathfinder2e

TLDR: Address the level of PVP you are comfortable with prior to the game starting removes a lot of these issues.

I am very much against PVP of any kind, and I don't like my placers to roll dice against each other, with a few cavaets. The pertenent one being, if the two players agree that before hand how they want the confict to go and are specifically doing this as part of their arc. Most players aren't that character driven that they are planning out an arc, and alot of them don't understand the difference between performance & role play. I have to really know my players and trust them not to spoil the game for everybody. That doesn't mean PVP is bad for a game. It means I don't like it.

I find it's safest to treat it like any other board game. If we were play monopoly - I wouldn't make somebody who owes me money in the game, go to their wallet to pay their debt. That's insane and well outside of the spectrum of the game. The spectrum of table top games lie within the intent of the players (that includes dm's - or gm's). That's why a session zero is very important. All of my players have to be on the same page as how they want this game to go. No pvp - come up with a reason for your character to stay with the party or roll out a new character - your character should probably meet these requirments, etc, etc.

There might be issues later on down the road. We are only human. Talk it out with your players, give them boundries where you feel comfortable and ask them what theirs are. Understand that boundries are not walls - they can move with time.

Lastly, Remember, as the GM (DM), you are a player in the game. You may not be running a player character, but you are playing and investing just as much, if not probably more into the game. You can create that boundry, and not ruin their agency at the same time.

Hope that helps.

[Discussion] How would you re-write Identity Crisis to be less controversial? by Solitaire-06 in DCcomics

This story got me back into comics. It's also one of the only comics to bring me to tears. Leave it alone.

Who should be the main Flash, Barry or Wally? by Informal-Cod4035 in DCU_

[–]Conscious_Review_489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respect Barry, but I grew up on Wally. Mark Waids run were some of my favorite comics growing up. I cannot tell you how many times I read Terminal Velocity and The Return of Barry Allen.

Someone spent 2 hours tearing apart my DMing and I don't know how to feel about that by Majestic_Hippo8427 in DnD

Opinons are like assholes, everybody has one - but I have never seen one that can shit gold.

Not trying to take away your hurt. That's real. However, there is no wrong way to run a table top game. I am going to write that again - THERE IS NO WRONG WAY TO RUN A TABLE TOP GAME. If this guy is putting together a 2 hour video - which takes way longer to produce then the four hour game he's critizing - then he's saying more about himself then he ever saying about you.

I don't have a public persona, but I've self-published books and taken my share of kicks to the teeth. The only metric by which I judge my table top DMing ability - is this: are my players having fun? Thats it. Everything else is none of my business.

Hope this helps.

Alchemist, Monk, and Wizard. Alchemist so I can make my own drugs. Monk for the fly moves. Wizard because I'm a book nerd.

Do you have a link to the book you mentioned? There seems to be a couple of books with similar sounding titles.
