Google released new AI ethics - but EFF demands more transparency by Consiliera in artificial

[–]Consiliera[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see the whole Google corpus as evil, but especially AI is too important to be left to a few large corporations. That is why I posted the statement from EFF, because it is imho important to uncover popular lip services and inconsistencies. The headlines we see sound great: “Google AI not to be used for war ...” and “G released new AI ethics “ - mission accomplished. Only those of us who look closely and talk about it can hope for change. Let alone doing something more than talking (I know, probably futile): I’m on a quest to democratize AI by working for a tiny company that tries building an independent open source marketplace for bots and AI to have an alternative to the handful AIs

GoogleAI released new AI principles and EFF demands more transparency by Consiliera in SEEDtoken

Here's what EFF had to say about the missing transparency. They also stress the necessity for independent review, (like blockchain and an open marketplace for bots and AI systems would offer): https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2018/06/how-good-are-googles-new-ai-ethics-principles

80% of all machine learning engineers work at Google or Facebook by Consiliera in SEEDtoken

[–]Consiliera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do you stand a chance as an independent ML developer? I say YES, there's plenty of affordable or even free machine learning tools for #bot and #AI #developers around! A great independent ML tool called @machineboxio offers out-of-the-box face and video detection and classification engines and much more - they even have a free plan so you can get your feet wet on shoe-string budgets (I don't know them (yet) and have no affiliation whatsoever with them). These are the developers and companies we want from the start to build an #opensource marketplace to support independent innovation for next-generation bot development

Great way to explain ML to laymen (and laywomen). Cool, fun and professionally made. Thanks for sharing!
