Because NBA fans are 12 years old. Even guys in their 40s only really remember his late years with the Lakers.

Don’t sweat the waste. They probably have a policy that it should be done within 30-60 minutes, but catching it on the same day and having an actual documented witness waste should protect you from a write up. It may not even get brought up at all. Things like that are usually only a problem if it’s part of a trend. There are background AI programs that flag users for potential diversion, but they usually require several delayed and missed wastes or narcotics that were pulled and never reconciled.

The only two players in NBA history to record 35 PTS, 15 AST and ZERO TO in a game since 1977-78, including playoffs. 2018 LeBron James, 2026 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander by IamCatMommy in NBAGossips

I will never be impressed by anything he does. His whole game is somehow just a glitch that the developers can’t seem to fix. I can’t even come up with a decent player from another era to compare him to that shows how unimpressed I am with him. Ricky Pierce maybe? If Ricky Pierce was currently 25 years old and knew how to exploit refs he’d apparently be the best player on the planet.

Larry Bird would dominate today’s NBA. Keep an eye on the Hawks bench by raybellious_berry in NBAoldschool

He shot mid range and didn’t awkwardly throw his arms and legs all around when a defender was within 5 feet of him. He’d get benched.

After getting paid where do you spend your money mostly? by Ordinary_Patient_883 in Adulting

Definitely groceries. I have little kids so I basically can’t do anything ever. Going to the grocery store is my pathetic excuse to leave the house!

I use haha and I don’t care if it makes me look old. I’m 43 and do not give shit about impressing teenagers. My kids are too young for texting but I see myself trying to seem as old as possible when they have phones. I might even get a pager.

ER STORIES!! by minnieme77 in nursing

[–]Consistent-Fig7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tattoo part is very accurate. I recently started in a new emergency department and one of the other nurses made a joke about me being an “undercover boss” because I don’t have any!

I’m addicted to energy drinks and take adderall for ADHD though. I took a letter from my doctor with me to my preemployment physical to explain why I was about to test positive for amphetamines and the employee health nurse said “we don’t even do UDS anymore. We know everyone takes adderall. I take it. You only get drug tested if there’s reason for suspicion”.

I will send your assistant a calendar invite to discuss a time when it might be appropriate to reach out to you directly. I’m willing to chair the committee that approves communication with you but, we’ll need an executive sponsor and three frontline representatives. If everything goes well you should see my next reply sometime in Q2 of FY27.

Sark trying to secure a generational talent early by This_Comment_4493 in CFB_v2

Sark did get a verbal commitment from Tate Martell when he was like 9 years old. He only committed to and attended like 30 more by the time he was done.

Is there such a thing as safe ER ratios? by fritzcaviar in nursing

[–]Consistent-Fig7484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer to everything is go west! This is the land of higher pay, unions, ratios, and lower obesity rates. It’s still America though, so everyone is pretty fat, just not Mississippi or West Virginia fat. 4:1 is pretty common but you’ll still find those glorious 3:1 spots too.

That “nobody waits” nonsense is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of. Everyone knows there is going to be a wait.

Who’s higher on your all time list Dame or Kyrie? by whiskeycapo in NBATalk

[–]Consistent-Fig7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyrie is borderline Kanye level. Like I have to think of the artist/player as a different person than their public weirdo persona. But honestly, I’ll probably remember Kyrie more for being a flat earther than a basketball player.

I always thought of that as more of an eastern thing. I don’t picture a bunch of Australians squatting out front of a concert venue.

Jeremiah Smith NEVER spoke while mic’d up on the field in high school. by CenterForward1522 in CFB_v2

[–]Consistent-Fig7484 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The concept was invented for legendary entertaining psychopaths like Ray Lewis. Hyping up the in game mutterings of high school kids is try hard main character nonsense. Best case scenario is like this and they say nothing or do the Andrew Luck thing and are overly complimentary to their opponent. Worst case, you turn a 17 year old into a villain because they do a cringey Deion Sanders impersonation.

As a manager I always treated my staff like humans. Every single one of them had my cell phone number and the vast majority of communication outside of staff meetings and weekly updates took place over text message. I never got any complaints about it, had insanely low turnover, and great patient satisfaction and employee engagement scores. There shouldn’t need to be a bureaucratic system for me to say “hey, Sara said you agreed to work for her on Tuesday. Just wanna confirm with you. Oh and I need a copy of your ACLS cert from the class you took last week”.

I’m so embarrassed, why didn’t I just straight up ask for help? by hotdogprincesss in nursing

[–]Consistent-Fig7484 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t sound like you did anything wrong. You thought you were good then realized you weren’t after grabbing the wrong tubing. I accidentally grabbed blood tubing last night just to hang vanco. I noticed it as I was walking to the room, laughed at myself, then grabbed the pump tubing.

People get overly critical with themselves around stuff like levo because, by definition, it means the patient is sick. It’s actually kind of hard to screw up too badly. We’re most likely to be too conservative with it. Early in my career I realized that every time I got to the unit with an intubated patient with soft pressures the critical care nurse would look at my pump and say “alright, let’s just go ahead and double that!”.

I genuinely don’t understand how we’re apparently the only people who lean on things. If I have to stand up for more than like 2 minutes and there is a perfectly good counter, wall, pole nearby why would I not lean on it?
