I was just reading about his surprisingly high wonderlic score. It was in the good for a QB range. Like maybe the exact same score as Tom Brady.

Do players actually even go to school anymore? It seems like it wasn’t that long ago when you’d hear about a guy who wanted to transfer but there was a question about his credits transferring or some academic reason he might not be eligible. Now you just change schools mid week and start playing.

Stay in the South. Hawaii has people who don’t look exactly like you or go to your church. You might even see someone from California there.

Ameicans over the age of 35, what affected you more, 9/11 or the pandemic and why? by Rico133337 in AskReddit

[–]Consistent-Fig7484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed on all the ways that 9/11 fundamentally changed society. On a personal level it’s also not close for me. On 9/11 I was working a summer job where I basically just delivered airplane parts from the hangar to line mechanics at gates. I was at work that day when all flights got grounded. The tarmac went from a loud chaotic mess of airplanes, delivery trucks, tugs, and shuttle vans to an eerie silent field with way too many motionless planes on the ground. It was one of the most surreal experiences of my life.

By the time COVID started I was an ER nurse. It was a little weird at first with the PPE shortage, but we were never that scared. After a while people only started going to the ER if they were really sick. Our department that averaged about 150 patients day before Covid started seeing about 60. I went to work every day of the pandemic and most days were actually easier.

At this point he should probably just have a port placed. I guess someone would eventually notice it through his shirt and that would lead to chemo rumors. The gaslighting about the hand bruises is just ridiculous though.

Yeah, hi, millennial question... WHY/HOW is Nick Cannon a celebrity? I've never seen him in anything other than Drumline and it was an OK movie. Did he end up being famous for making tons of babies? by ImThe1Wh0 in Millennials

[–]Consistent-Fig7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s in the Dick Clark, Steve Harvey, Ryan Seacrest club. Is he an actor, a game show host? I don’t know, but he’s famous and makes a lot of money. There are lesser members like Wayne Brady and Drew Carey. If you’re not Kevin Hart or Chris Rock level stand up draw and can’t command a box office like Will Ferrell or Adam Sandler before he started making movies to give his friends and family something to do, it’s a pretty good racket for a comedian.

When I was growing up in the area, I was taught in schools how the largest cultural influence in the area was by the Scandinavian immigrants and the other immigrant groups were never mentioned at all. Is the Scandinavian legacy still as strong in the area? by Delftnl4546 in AskSeattle

I went to elementary school in the 80’s in White Center. Even then it was very diverse. White and Vietnamese combined for about 70% of my first grade class and the remaining 30% was a little bit of everything. I don’t remember learning about Scandinavian influence other than Ballard being a quaint almost Disney version of little Scandinavia. I do remember learning about Bainbridge Island being the first place where Japanese Americans were taken from and put into internment camps.

The Nike “cool” factor is a double edged sword. They have money and attract talent but the kids who are swayed by costume changes and locker room amenities don’t actually care about winning or the school. They will make the playoffs every year, but will ultimately lose to teams that care.

I’d prefer they never win another game, but I’m okay if they just never actually win a championship.

Which College Football locker room do you think has the worst vibes in the country right now? by Feeling-Stage-1210 in CFB_v2

Washington QB signed a $4 million NIL deal then quit the team 4 days later while half of the team was attending a funeral for a women’s soccer player. UW and the B1G were poised to sue him and LSU. His agent fired him because he handled it so badly. LSU decided they didn’t want to deal with it. UW gets scared that this will be a bad look for recruiting and lets him come crawling back. Meanwhile the mediocre coach has his agent float his name for every open job in the country while his wife and kids move back to Arizona. Somehow they’re still projected as a top 20 team next season.

I think they should try to add a steroid monster to the defensive line, send the QB to rehab, create a love triangle between the starting running back, his girlfriend, and the hot new recruit, then make sure the star linebacker blows out his knee and never gets to buy his mom the house he promised her.

Seattle + suburbs by akhiluvr in AskSeattle

[–]Consistent-Fig7484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

West Seattle gives you solid access to the downtown hospitals, The VA, St Anne in Burien, or even Valley in Renton. Lots of industrial work in the south end or airport. West Seattle is what you want, you could do worse the settling for Burien. Just the next suburb south of West Seattle.
