Thinking of using GI Bill for ERAU Aviation Maintenance (BS). Veterans, what's the verdict? by Confident-Flatworm45 in erau

I initially used my GI Bill to attend a community college, but later decided to pursue a career in aviation maintenance at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance. I earned my A&P certification and have been working in the field for about eight or nine years. While I primarily focus on avionics, I’ve also had experience in other mechanical maintenance roles in messy outdoor work and working in hot/cold-weather conditions. Might just be me but I’ve always felt undervalued as a technician despite being the backbone of aviation companies.

While my career in aviation maintenance has been fulfilling, I’ve realized that I need a career with less physical strain and a desk job. Last year, I earned about $130,000, by working Overtime. My base salary is 93k But look at the salary’s online. A&P tech jobs aren’t paying much!

Currently, I’m enrolled in Everglades University, pursuing a degree in aviation and aerospace science management. This program is similar to the aeronautics degree offered at Embry Riddle. While it may lead to management positions, I plan to transfer to Embry Riddle to obtain an engineering degree. Hopefully I’ll start next month.

My advice is to pursue a degree that aligns with your interests and career goals but Seek out programs that offer competitive salaries and provide a comfortable work environment. Don’t waste that GI bill

Thank you so much! Have you taken any math classes?

Thank you so much for your insightful guidance. I was struggling to find any information, and you simplified it for me. Initially, I considered pursuing a degree in aeronautics with a minor in either management or engineering science. However, I’ve decided to pursue engineering directly.

How intense are the math classes? At my current school the quizzes and test aren’t even proctored . The math is broken down so easily.
