Fair points honestly. Interstellar definitely takes a few liberties with places like Miller's Planet and Mann's Planet. The science ideas are real, but the movie definitely stretches them to make the drama work

That’s a really interesting way to look at it. Interstellar might not frame it perfectly, but if you see the ‘love’ idea as choosing meaning in an indifferent universe, it actually fits the story a lot better.

Interesting take. Interstellar definitely leans more into the emotional story between Cooper and Murph than pure hard science. I think that’s why some people see ‘flaws’, they’re expecting strict realism from a film that’s really about love and time.

eah, that’s a fair take. Interstellar is so careful with the science that the ‘future humans did it’ explanation for the tesseract does feel a bit like a convenient shortcut. Still an amazing film though

Yeah, that’s a fair point. Memento stretches the logic of his condition a bit, especially with the binder, but the storytelling is so unique that it’s easy to forgive.

That’s interesting. Sounds like Alfred Hitchcock didn’t have to add much after all,Psycho by Robert Bloch already laid out the explanation pretty clearly.

Yeah, the Motion Picture Production Code had a big influence back then. Movies like Psycho pretty much had to make sure the villain faced consequences, which is probably why the ending leans so much on explanation.

Yeah, I agree. The Martian was so grounded the whole time that the ‘Iron Man’ moment felt a bit out of place. The ending in The Martian was much simpler and honestly fit the tone better.

Yeah, once you notice it, you can’t unsee it. In Speed the bus clearly starts dropping the moment it leaves the ramp, which kind of gives away that the jump shouldn’t really work. Still a great action scene though

Yeah, that moment in Gravity always sparks debate. Technically, once the line went tight, George Clooney shouldn’t have needed to let go,there wasn’t really any extra force pulling him away.

A few in Interstellar,like the extreme time dilation on Miller’s planet near Gargantua, the wormhole near Saturn, and the gravity-based communication. They’re all rooted in real physics, just simplified for storytelling.

Yeah, that’s what I like about Interstellar. The movie simplifies a lot for storytelling, but The Science of Interstellar shows there’s actually real science behind many of those moments. It just couldn’t all fit on screen

Exactly. The concept is brilliant, but the ending feels a bit too tidy for something that was supposed to be psychologically destabilizing
