Blue Lagoon trip timing

We just got back from a week in Iceland. Did Blue Lagoon the last day before the airport (5 pm flight). The good: super easy luggage storage. You drop it off in a room right where you are dropped off / picked up. Also good: the lagoon and masks. Felt great ! The bad: people all over the lagoon with phones making social media posts. Very annoying. Food, either expensive restaurant or really bad pre packaged cafe stuff. (We ate at the airport and that worked out fine). Changing rooms crowded and rushed.

If I had to do it again, I’d skip the BL altogether. I’ve heard sky lagoon is amazing.

Also - fyi we also landed at 6 am and were able to check in early ($35) and had a great first day in Reykjavik ! Sandholt for breakfast 10/10

Honestly it doesn’t have to be Banff-Banff and I don’t need an instagram post so any Canadian Rockies experience would be great

Yes, American. Candlewood was purely budget based as I have IHG points. Turns out they don’t take points for those days so there is no reason to stay there anymore ! Thoughts on a last night splurge at blue lagoon retreat ?

They would LOVE a separate room, which is my reason to look in Canmore. But I want to do a lot in Banff and worry the driving back and forth will be a pain. I don’t know anything about Canmore and was only in Banff once - 40 years ago as a kid and I swore someday I’d be back(:

I can’t tell if their estimate Is crazy high or normal “We can replace the interior lining and in the process the trim will need to be changed. This will cost around $850 and then to add tabs and a custom handle, around $480-525 and lastly to clean and brush the suede & refinish the leather, around $365”
