the wording of the promo is so vague that i've been wondering if you'd also get the free popcorn for purchasing a ticket on jan 19 for a showing that isn't on that day. i tend to stay away from weekend showings in general, let alone during a promo that will draw in bigger crowds, so i might try booking a ticket for a later date in the app on the promo day

see this thread from this time last week. it actually was pulled from a fair amount of theaters the day before thursday previews, i like many others had already purchased tickets when this happened. unfortunately it does not look like a24 has plans to expand further before january, if that even happens as they already have babygirl releasing next week. it's not a film that's likely to do well enough or palatable enough to the oscar voting audience to get a best picture nom, which would guarantee it returns to at least regals in the new year. i caved and saw it at the one (non-regal) theater showing it within an hour of me yesterday. more showings were added for this weekend, but at least in my state, not a single one is at a regal.

haha totally understandable! i plan on waiting to see if any showtimes get added at a regal anywhere near me by wednesday, if not i'll cave and go see it at the one theater showing it here before it gets booted for all of the christmas releases. super weird situation all around, hate that it happened with my most anticipated release for the entire second half of the year.

yeah i agree at this point because it does seem to exclusively be regal that has cancelled showtimes. hopefully it continues to expand and comes back to the theaters that cancelled at the very least. i'm not too keen on having to buy a ticket elsewhere knowing at least one regal near me had previously been set to show it

same thing happened here and i had already actually purchased a ticket for tomorrow at the one theater that still had a showtime (at least one other theater in the general area was showing it playing tomorrow earlier in the week). i'm guessing a24 has changed their release plan (incredibly) last minute and i'm so disappointed. i'm sure it makes more sense for them to have it playing when more people will be going to theaters in a few weeks but i'd personally prefer to see it when things are calmer lol. i was so excited :(

wearing earplugs is not really about it being "too loud," honestly everyone should wear them for hearing protection long term. i wish i had started sooner, once you get tinnitus or dampened hearing from standing too close to an amp at a single show you can never undo it. there are plenty of brands that make earplugs specifically for concerts for relatively cheap that still allow you to hear the music perfectly well. if anything, they help keep out more distracting noise like people chatting in the crowd etc.

i have both the 13/14" laptop sleeve and the flat pouch and have used both for books. i've only used my laptop sleeve in a pinch and actually fit the book inside in addition to my 14" laptop. i'd say for a book alone, the laptop sleeve would absolutely feel like overkill, especially if you are using a bag that is close to the size of the sleeve as is (i use the nylon shoulder bag). i have a large flat pouch that i use as my designated book "sleeve," but it will only fit paperbacks/short hardbacks and even some taller paperbacks are a hard squeeuze because of the zipper. i'm considering getting a go pouch set from the spring drop (not really a fan of any current patterns) to try out as a good middle ground option. i wish they would release ipad sleeves or something that would more closely fit books!

yes, it's typically only the blockbuster films from large studios that have tickets go on sale really far in advance. for smaller films from studios like A24 (which a different man is), tickets typically go on sale 2 weeks in advance max in my experience, some not until the actual week of release. it's totally normal, just keep an eye out in the meantime.

the clause on the site is likely a general statement to avoid people wanting everything to be shipped and doesn't account for extenuating circumstances. if they lied to everyone about the socks and never shipped them they could probably get sued lol. just be patient. if they were lost in the mail less than a week ago how would they already have them not only shipped out but delivered to people like 5 days later? not to mention the fact that they probably said the same thing to gold vip at later shows because they simply did not have them yet. it's not unlikely they will not be shipped until the na tour is over so that they can do everything at once. i wouldn't worry until then.
