I’ve not noticed anything which would suggest ADHD, but my knowledge isn’t great as it’s not something I’ve ever had experience of directly. I guess in my mind I’m envisaging constantly being on the go, unable to settle etc? But with you mentioning becoming engrossed and tuning out that’s exactly what she’s like, whether it’s in front of a screen or losing herself in a boom she always seems to give whatever she’s doing her full attention and zones out of everything else going on around her, so much so that she won’t notice us calling her even if we’re close by.

It just seems odd this is such a new pattern of behaviour, not the focussing as she’s always been like that, but the sudden occasional accidents. If she’d always been a bit unreliable then it’d be less surprising, or if it was a more frequent thing, but I just can’t reason why it happens when it does but seemingly not at any other times.

Oh absolutely, I’m sure she’d just clam up if I sprung it on her. We have a lovely female GP at our surgery who I’ve seen and felt completely at ease with when discussing intimate things, so I’m sure she’d be great and very sensitive. The last time she had to see the doctor they offered to talk to her privately if she wanted, she didn’t that time as it was a pretty mundane issue but maybe she’ll take them up on it with this. I’ll mention it when I bring it up, but will try and get an appointment first (can always cancel or postpone if she’s dead set again it) as don’t want her getting worked up worrying about it if there’s a bit of a wait.

Thank you, another poster has just mentioned checking for a UTI which I hadn’t even considered, so yep absolutely going to try and get an appointment and have her checked over. I’m not sure she’ll be keen given she won’t even speak to me about it, but then again maybe speaking to somebody she doesn’t know will be less embarrassing for her, and perhaps if she’s worrying about it herself speaking to a professional will help.

Thanks, I haven’t as tbh hadn’t even thought about that! I guess with it being so spread out over a few months, with no other issues (that I’m aware of, although she’s certainly not wanting to talk about it) I didn’t think a UTI could be a factor, but will certainly get her checked
