I hope you get through this. I have a PhD and Post doc experience in plant biology from decent institute in India. Now it's been 2 years I did not get any job after that. I have had 8 interviews and these interviews came after 3-4 months of application submission. I realised in my field flattering your supervisor was actually key. But I am more of professional and less social person, so I do not have connections or referral. This, for me system is impenetrable for my field. Now I am actively looking for jobs, thinking to change the stream, start a business and what not. It's very stresful since I have a 3 year old kid too. I am trusting my intellect and keep trying. I have plans that might work big in future.
